The feet may be where reflexology begins, but they are rarely the whole story.

One of the things people often find so interesting about reflexology is that such a focused treatment can feel like it reaches much further.
Not because the feet are doing all the work on their own, but because the body works as one connected system.

When the nervous system begins to settle, other things can start to shift too. Breathing may soften. The mind may quieten. Digestion may feel less sluggish. Circulation may improve. Sleep may come a little easier. The whole person often feels the benefit, not just the feet on the couch.

That doesn’t mean reflexology is a cure-all, and it shouldn’t be presented as one. But it can be a powerful complementary therapy - one that gives the body a chance to slow down, regulate and respond in its own way.

That’s why a reflexology session may begin with the feet, but the deepest impact is often felt elsewhere. 👣

Participants needed for my MSc Research Project!

Research has shown that there is an inequality between the gut health of neurodivergent children and their neurotypical counterparts, and emerging evidence suggests that nutrition plays a key role in symptom development and persistence. Developing healthy eating interventions for neurodivergent children could be key in addressing this inequality.

In light of this, I'm embarking on some important research which evaluates how well a healthy eating initiative called Belly Bugs works with children diagnosed with ADHD.

If you're a parent of a primary school aged child , diagnosed with ADHD (or know someone who is) , I'd love to hear from you.

Parents needed!

As you all may be aware, for the past 18 months, I've been completing an MSc in Health Psychology at MMU. I'm now at my final stages of completion and am looking for participants for my final research project, which encompasses my interest in behaviour and UPF/sugar (Mae!) and gut health.

My research has shown that there is an inequality between the gut health of neurodivergent children and their neurotypical counterparts, and emerging evidence suggests that nutrition plays a key role in symptom development and persistence. There’s a lot of misunderstanding around reflexology - and to be fair, it’s often been undersold.

It’s not just a quick bit of relaxation at the end of a long week.
It’s not something generic or one-size-fits-all.
And it’s definitely not about “just lying there” while nothing happens.

A reflexology session is intentional. It’s tailored. It’s responsive to you. It's not a script.

It works through specific pressure techniques on the feet that relate to different systems of the body, aiming to support balance, reduce stress, and encourage the body’s own natural responses.

No pressure to perform. No need to push through.
Just space for your body to settle and do what it’s designed to do. 💜

Why some areas on the feet feel tender or painful during Reflexology

A question I’m often asked is:
“Why does that spot on my foot feel tender?”

Tenderness in certain areas of the feet is very common, and it’s not something to worry about.

The feet reflect the whole body.
When an area is sensitive, it can indicate that the corresponding part of the body/mind or nervous system has been under pressure, overworked, stressed or adapting to how a part of the body/mind change.

Tenderness can be linked to:
🔆 tension or stress held in the nervous system
🔆 areas that have been compensating or overworking
🔆 emotional or mental issues
🔆 reduced circulation or mobility in that area

As reflexology continues, these tender spots often soften.
This is a beautiful sign that the body is responding, rebalancing and letting go.

Your body speaks through your feet, hands, face and ears not to alarm you, but to guide you.
Reflexology simply listens and supports that conversation.

Gentle awareness creates change.
And your body always knows the way back to balance 💚
