"What do you need right now?" 🤔
Before we can answer that question, we need to notice the signals our body is giving us. This is called interoception.
Interoception is our ability to notice signals like hunger, thirst, tiredness, or big feelings. When we can recognise these signals, we're better able to communicate our needs, emotions, and experiences to others. 🍏🥤☀❄
For some children, noticing and interpreting these signals can be tricky. This can make it harder to communicate needs, understand emotions, or explain how they're feeling.
When children develop awareness of their internal body signals, they can be better supported to communicate their needs, emotions, and wellbeing. 💚
