Just another buzz word?

Nope!

🟢 Exosomes are microscopic, naturally occurring vesicles (tiny bubbles) released by cells, acting as crucial messengers that transfer proteins, lipids, RNA, and growth factors to other cells, facilitating communication and regulating functions like tissue repair, inflammation, and regeneration.

🟢 Think of them as cellular “delivery trucks’’ carrying vital instructions to coordinate cellular activities, especially important in aesthetics for promoting collagen, skin rejuvenation, and hair restoration by signaling cells to behave younger and heal better.

🟢 They are a type of biostimulator, which encourages the body to change and heal itself.

🟢 Book a consultation today to find if exosomes are the answer for you

Instagram lies!

🟢 The dynamics of lip movement can affect asymmetry correction. There are around 17 muscles that affect how the lips change in shape on smiling, and this can vary from the right to left sides of the same patient, meaning that even with perfect lip symmetry at rest, this can be disrupted.

🟢 Lip asymmetry can sometimes be corrected using botulinum toxin to partially relax muscles that are slightly overactive that control mouth movement, causing more of a pull on one side than the other, however in this patient’s case will affect the patient’s ability to smile naturally.

🟢 Dynamic movement of asymmetry needs to be assessed and then expectations managed with respect to the possible result of the correction. As usual, don’t believe all the perfection you see on social media because often lips on motion are not taken into account 😉 ✨

Biostimulators like Sculptra and Radiesse are the new generation injectables.

🟢 I recommend:

Sculptra for loose, stretchy skin

Radiesse in hyperdilute form to treat skin texture change.

🟢 They trigger the BODY’S OWN REPAIR system by causing an increase in production of collagen and elastin via different pathways.

🟢 Results develop over time - they are not used to revolumise (that’s filler’s job) but to strengthen and tighten areas of laxity (Sculptra) and create a more refined and smoother skin texture (Radiesse hyperdilute formulation).

Filler in the bin?? 🤨: Filler VS Regenerative Biostimulators

EACH HAVE THEIR PLACE - which to select depends on the patient and what you are trying to achieve (results using either can look natural).

The number one worry I hear from patients is they are terrified of having dermal filler because it will make them look ‘done’. Treatment results don’t need to be this way, if you see the right Dr. :

⭐️⭐️The above patient DIDNT HAVE ANY BIOSTIMULATOR treatment and STILL LOOKS SUPER NATURAL⭐️⭐️

🟢 Lisa had the following treatment:

DERMAL FILLER augmentation:
Lip
Midface/ cheeks
Temple
White lip/ ‘smokers lines’
Chin and pre-jowl

SKIN BOOSTER:
Profhilo

BOTOX:
Upper and lower face botox
Botox to correct asymmetry in smile

Lisa is a hard working nurse and mum and felt she was starting to look a little drained and tired.
She wanted to feel fresh again and recognise who she saw in the mirror.

🟢 Interestingly, stress can cause an increase in cortisol in the body, causing premature fat pad breakdown in the face. This occurs naturally with age but can increase with excess cortisol. (This is why when people have undergone a lot of stress in their lives they feel they can ‘see it in their face’.)
After a thorough facial assessment a treatment plan was formulated to be carried out over 9 months - treatment transformations are usually a journey, never a one stop shop.

🟢 It brings me absolute joy to have given Lisa a twinkle back to her lovely smile and the confidence to put her best foot forward with her head held high once more.

🟢 I would like to to express just how grateful 1 am to Lisa and each and every one of you for supporting me, for every like and follow and to my wonderful patients letting me share their transformation journeys.

Confused? I got you 😉

🟢 Biostimulators are injectable treatments that prompt the body to produce collagen and elastin on its own, via ‘neocollagenesis’ leading to gradual improvements in skin firmness, texture, and volume for a natural-looking rejuvenation.

🟢These are often ‘polishing treatments’ used after restoring deep volume loss with dermal filler, but can be used as standalone treatments also.

🟢Unlike traditional fillers that provide immediate volume, biostimulators work over time. Notable examples include Sculptra (poly-L-lactic acid) and Polynucleotides). These agents stimulate skin-restructuring from within, helping to address wrinkles, sagging, and overall skin quality.

✅ Mechanism of Action
These agents trigger a controlled inflammatory response that encourages fibroblasts to synthesize new collagen and elastin fibers, resulting in longer-term skin improvement.
