Just something I often think about… 🤔💭

What stops people from having therapy?

I asked this question recently and the answers were incredibly honest… 🫶

💷 Cost
😔 Shame
⏰ Availability around work and family life
❓ Not knowing how many sessions they’ll need
💔 Worrying the therapist won’t “get them”
🫣 Lack of confidence
😨 Fear of change
🤷‍♀️ Not knowing what type of therapy they need
📅 Feeling like they simply don’t have the time

So, here are my thoughts as a therapist… 💜🧡

✔️ Cost: Mental health is just as important as physical health. If private therapy isn’t possible right now, speak to your GP or local community services. Support is available. 🫶

✔️ Shame: Let’s normalise getting help. I’ve had therapy myself and probably will again one day. We all need support sometimes. ❤️

✔️ Availability: Life is busy! That’s why I offer video sessions too (often involving fluffy socks and a cuppa ☕🧦😂).

✔️ How many sessions? Everyone is different. Therapy isn’t a race, and progress looks different for each person. 🌱

✔️ Finding the right therapist: Connection matters. Always choose someone you feel comfortable with, which is why I offer a free, no-obligation consultation. 🤝
