Not everything feels the same to every child. 💛
A busy room might feel exciting to one child and overwhelming to another. A messy activity might be great fun for one and something they'd rather avoid. Even sounds, lights, movement and textures can affect children in very different ways.
And that's okay.
Understanding sensory preferences isn't about asking children to simply “get used to it”. It’s about noticing what they’re telling us, offering choices and creating spaces where they can feel comfortable enough to explore.
Because when we understand what feels right for a child, we can give them more opportunities to join in, feel confident and enjoy their experiences in their own way.
What helps your child feel comfortable and settled? We'd love to hear from you.
