At Christmas, I had the privilege of supporting Rebecca, who birthed Mabel, bottom first, at home.

Last weekend, exactly 9 months later, I supported Holly to give birth to baby Rose, also born at home.

Sisters, and little cousins 🥰🩷 Both did the work, and made the choices to give them and their babies the birth they wanted. My heart is so incredibly full 🥹

Also, I feel a rebrand coming on - Our FAMILY Midwife 🤣

Meet Laura // Laura is a certified Pregnancy + Postpartum yoga teacher, Sound therapist, Doula and Birth Educator.

In her work, she encourages connection to the wisdom of the body and the cultivation of a calm nervous system. She will offer two sessions on the antenatal retreat…

In the first session, she will guide you through movements and positions which can be beneficial for pregnancy, birth, and into postpartum, including practical tips for birthing partners.

The second session will be a deeply relaxing and restorative sound bath with guided relaxation.

Retreat //

This is for the couple who has a spreadsheet.
And the couple who has not bought a single baby item.
The couple who knows exactly what they want.
And the couple who keeps thinking, “I genuinely have no idea.”
The couple who is excited.
And the couple who is a little bit terrified.
You do not need to arrive with all the answers.
That is rather the point of coming.

Last few spots remain, bag yours today.

Guest Speaker // Sarah

I’m so pleased to welcome Sarah to the retreat, who’ll be joining us to lead our feeding session.

Sarah brings a wealth of knowledge and a wonderfully practical approach to infant feeding, helping you understand what to expect in those early days without the pressure, judgement or overwhelm that can sometimes surround feeding choices.

Whether you’re planning to breastfeed, formula feed, combination feed or simply want to keep your options open, this session is about giving you the knowledge and confidence to make informed choices that feel right for you and your baby.

Expect honest conversations, practical tips and plenty of reassurance — because feeding your baby shouldn’t feel like something you have to figure out alone.

Retreat // My Why

I have supported hundreds of families through pregnancy, birth and those early weeks with a new baby.
And one thing I keep coming back to is this:
People don’t just need more information.
They need someone to help them make sense of it.
They need space to ask questions.
They need to feel that their choices matter.
They need to know what is normal, what might happen and what support is available.
And they need people around them.
So I wanted to create a weekend that brought all of those things together.
A weekend where we can talk about birth properly, without fearmongering.
Where we can talk about interventions without making anyone feel that they have failed.
Where we can talk about feeding without pressure.
Where partners are included.
Where there is room for questions, laughter, food and the occasional “what on earth are we doing?” moment.

The Margate Antenatal Retreat is my way of creating the kind of preparation I wish every expectant couple could access.

And I cannot wait to welcome you.

I wanted to create something that went beyond information.

Because yes, you deserve to understand birth.
You deserve to know your options.
You deserve to feel prepared.
But you also deserve to feel supported.
To meet people who are in the same strange, exciting, overwhelming chapter of life.
To have time to talk.
To eat.
To laugh.
To ask the question you have been keeping in your head.

That is what the Margate Antenatal Retreat is about.
A weekend of preparation, connection and finding your village.

Four places remaining.

💦 I have a bit of a running joke with my clients…

What does trust and safety look like for you?
Cups of tea?
Chats?
Laughter?
Hugs?

Birth thrives on safety. All the mechanisms of birth work best when you feel safe, loved, secure. All the psychology of birth works better when you feel like this too.

My whole ethos is based on trusting relational care, creating a space where you feel safe to come as you are, where all of you is welcome, where you’re safe to unravel a little bit, and then supported to build yourself back together again.

A lot of my clients cry in appointments, sometimes all they have to do is open the door to me 🤣 it becomes a bit of a running joke after a while!

Come and the find space to feel safe 🩷 and don’t forget the tissues 🤣

You are welcome, just as you are 🫶

🚨 Risk 🚨

This is a tricky topic to discuss, it’s emotive for a lot of people and it definitely isn’t black and white.

There is risk in everything, and birth is no different. But risk does not mean “don’t ask questions” or that you should be restricted in your options.

How did risk affect you in your pregnancy? Comment below 👇👇
And please share with any pregnant pals that need to hear this 🩷
