During August, we held our monthly Reiju Kai and Share in Deal, Kent.
It was a wonderful day sharing Reiki with students and teachers who had traveled from as far as Folkestone, Ashford and Buckinghamshire to be with us.

A huge thank you to Shihan Gemma Newman Dr Gemma Newman for being there with us all, it’s always so special whenever we get together!

One of the incredible benefits of honoring our lineage is the ability to connect in this way and offer group treatments—the results of which truly speak for themselves. As we move into another ever-changing season, it is with immense gratitude that we continue our practice to support our families, friends, and each other.

Do what you love, love what you do, and love will flow in abundance.

The work in my treatment room is never the same. Each day and each client is different. A Reiki treatment meets the individual on a level that often goes beyond words. The results differ immensely depending on how long a client has held a physical ailment, emotional stress, or deep belief patterns.

When we allow softness and let ourselves be held in safety, the body and mind gently unfurl.
The soul begins to regain and remember its true place.
Sometimes this peace lasts for a fleeting moment. Other times, the imprint creates a lasting effect.
It ripples through life choices and decisions that support the growth we so deeply need. Alignment takes time and patience. Yet, this sacred space is always there to return to, even when it feels impossible.

I loved connecting with students at last week’s ReijuKai and shares.

Giving Reiki in a group allows more energy to flow, helps answer practice questions and builds community through open-hearted mutual support.

The Gokai are the five principles at the heart of Reiki. Created by Usui Sensei to guide our self-cultivation, they offer a profound wealth of wisdom for living a life rooted from the inside.

They become a beautiful daily invitation to return to the present moment and with practice you really start to embody them.

During our Reiki Training we dive deeply into the Gokai. We explore how and more importantly, why Usui Sensei integrated them into his own life and teaching. We always encourage our students to learn and speak the Gokai in Japanese. In doing so, you connect with the original kotodama - the sacred, vibrant energy of the spoken word that carries the true energetic essence of the practice.

Did you know? Hayashi Sensei used to encourage his students to keep learning and growing through special gatherings called Reijukai. These beautiful meetings were a space to receive more Reiju, ask questions, share stories, and give and receive Reiki together.

There are two practitioner levels in Jikiden Reiki.

I have just spent 5 days assisting my Jikiden Reiki teacher, Dai Shihan Amanda Jayne Learn Jikiden Reiki in the beautiful coastal town of Deal.

I feel incredibly grateful for the traditional way this Japanese art of healing is honored through such a direct lineage. Amanda was a student of Chiyoko Yamaguchi, who learned directly from Hayashi Sensei—a student of Usui Sensei.

Amanda’s passion and dedication always leave me feeling profoundly connected to Japan and the roots of this practice. She teaches in a way that is practical, informative, and deeply respectful of tradition.
In Jikiden Reiki, we remain perpetual students. We seek constant self-improvement without ego, understanding that as Reiki becomes second nature, we align with our true nature.
