The nursery provides a high quality service for young children between 2 years and five years of age. It is open from 8.00am to 4.00pm for 38 weeks of every year. There are two outdoor play areas - a courtyard and a large garden area to provide a range of fun and activities for the children. Children benefit from a ra

nge of activities such as story time, challenge, IT, construction play, creative play, water and sand play, obstacle courses and role play areas. Windmill Community Gardens Project
The Windmill Community Allotment Project (WCAP) is situated just 400m from the main centre, and offers training, work placement opportunities and a wide range of activities for parents and children from the community. With its partners in the NHS, the local council and other children's centres, WCAP works closely with many organisations to support the community and produce environmental products. One of these - 'Millmead Honey' - is the result of a bee-keeping project involving local young people. WCAP works to involve local people more closely with nature and its surroundings, and to enable them to experience the health benefits of working with nature.

FREE Parent & Child Cooking Course – Limited Spaces Available!

We are excited to offer FREE places on an upcoming family learning session: “Cooking on a Budget” – a fun and practical course designed to help families create delicious, low-cost meals together.
Course details:

Location: Millmead Community Centre, Dane Valley Road, CT9 3RU
Date: Monday 27th July 2026
Time: 10:30am – 12:00pm

This friendly and informal session will give you the chance to learn new, easy recipes that are both child-friendly and budget-conscious. It is a great opportunity to pick up useful skills while enjoying some quality time together.

👉 Please note: Adults may bring up to 2 children to the session.

Places are completely FREE but limited, and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, so we encourage you to book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
