🇲🇽 Today we brought a little bit of Mexico to Oat Hill Mews! 🇲🇽

Our talented chefs created a fantastic Mexican pop-up restaurant, serving delicious signature dishes for everyone to enjoy.

The Lifestyle Team led the fun, dressing up in ponchos and sombreros, playing Mexican music, and encouraging residents to shake their maracas along to the beat. 🪇

Some residents also enjoyed a virtual journey through Mexico, exploring its beautiful sights and culture from the comfort of home.

We are so proud to be a veteran-friendly care home. On the first Friday of every month, we host a Fish and Chips event for veterans, providing an opportunity to come together, socialize, and enjoy a warm meal.

This month, we were delighted to welcome four veterans to the event. It is incredibly important to us to show our support, appreciation, and care for those who have served and helped shape our country. Their dedication and sacrifices should never be forgotten, and we are honored to provide a space where they feel valued and respected.

Our residents enjoyed preparing this classic summer treat and, of course, the best part was tasting it afterwards! Fresh strawberries and delicious cream made for a simple but delightful activity that everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

There were plenty of smiles as residents shared memories, helped prepare the treats, and savoured every bite.

The Lifestyle Team, Zara and Ruby, organised a fantastic Pick & Mix sweet trolley for our residents, bringing plenty of smiles and excitement throughout the home.

Everyone enjoyed choosing their favourite sweets and creating their own delicious mix. From classic favourites to colourful treats, there was something for everyone to enjoy!

A lovely activity that sparked conversations, happy memories, and of course satisfied a few sweet cravings. 🍬😊

Residents had a lovely day exploring this historic landmark, taking in the beautiful gardens, fascinating views, and rich history of the estate. It was a great opportunity to enjoy the fresh air, spend time together, and learn more about the heritage of this remarkable place.

😄 Yesterday we had a fantastic session with Lisa’s Laughter Lounge! 😄

Residents enjoyed an uplifting afternoon filled with laughter exercises, breathing techniques, and gentle movement. The room was full of smiles, laughter, and positive energy as everyone joined in and had great fun.

Laughter is a wonderful way to boost wellbeing, reduce stress, and bring people together, and yesterday’s session certainly did just that!

🎉🎂 We celebrated our dear Margery’s 104th birthday today! 🎂🎉

Margery had a wonderful day surrounded by family, friends and plenty of birthday cheer. Anne Maria delighted everyone by singing Margery’s favourite songs by Vera Lynn, bringing back many happy memories.

We finished the celebration with birthday cake, tea, and lots of smiles. Thank you to everyone who helped make Margery’s special day so memorable.

Today we celebrated African Day at Oat Hill Mews, and our amazing team wanted to share Africa with our residents in the way they know and love it — a colourful continent full of warmth, joy, music, culture, history, respect and beautiful traditions. 🌍✨

Residents enjoyed traditional African music and dancing, had the opportunity to try delicious snacks and sweets, and learned more about different cultures, traditions and stories from across Africa. The vibrant traditional clothing brought even more colour and spirit to the celebration.

It was a lovely afternoon of sharing experiences, learning from one another and celebrating diversity, kindness and community. Thank you to our fantastic team for bringing such energy, love and happiness to everyone at Oat Hill Mews. ❤️💛💚🖤
