TC loves creating art! Every Wednesday she heads to her art workshop and creates the most wonderful pieces. This week she has produced this stunning underwater scene and we think it is absolutely brilliant. We are so proud of you, TC!

TC enjoys spending quality time with her support worker, and one of her favourite activities is a game of snakes and ladders.

These shared moments encourage engagement, routine, and positive interaction, all while keeping things fun and relaxed. It is usually these simple interactions which really help to make the day for our clients.

DM recently enjoyed an afternoon tea in the sunshine with our Registered Manager/Director as part of our Random Act of Kindness initiative.

As DM doesn’t often get the opportunity to go out due to her current support structure, this outing was arranged to help her access the community and enjoy a change of environment. It was a positive experience that highlighted the importance of going beyond routine care to create meaningful opportunities for our clients.

TC is fortunate to have a neighbour with a pond nearby, and with their consent, she enjoys visiting to watch and feed the fish. This has become a regular activity that supports connection with the local community, as well as providing a calm and enjoyable environment.

We are really grateful that we have members of the public who make the effort to engage with us to provide positive everyday experiences.

We recently said thank you and goodbye to a valued member of the New Horizons Care team, Eve, as she moves on to begin a new career in psychology.

During her time with us, Eve became a well-respected part of the organisation, building strong relationships across both our Head Office and Support Worker teams. She leaves with a clear appreciation for the people who make New Horizons Care what it is.

Eve spoke highly of the dedication and compassion shown by our Support Workers, recognising the way they consistently go above and beyond to advocate for clients, maintain their safety, and deliver high standards of care every day. She also highlighted the strength of our Head Office team, noting the support, teamwork, and problem-solving that underpin everything we do.

Her contribution to the team has been valued, and her presence will be missed.

With her hair brushed, jewellery on, and a spritz of her favourite perfume, TC was ready for her day out.

TC attended her art class this week, where the focus was on drawing a male portrait - an activity she really enjoyed. She looks forward to these sessions and takes great pride in expressing her creativity.

Next week’s class will showcase everyone’s work, and TC is excited to reflect on how far her skills have developed. After class, we enjoyed a relaxing lunch at Fosse Park, combining personal growth with meaningful social connection.

We provide a mobility car that is free for all our clients to use. There is no charge.

This is particularly helpful for clients who are in and out of hospital and don’t usually travel by vehicle, for families caring for loved ones at home who may not have a suitable car when respite is needed, and for emergencies when someone is just starting care.

It gives families reassurance and removes one more practical barrier at difficult moments.

And a quick update: the mobility car is booked in for a full service and valet at the beginning of February, so it will be fresh, safe, and ready to go for the year ahead.

It’s a simple thing, but it makes a real difference. If we can help or support with your care needs then please let us know.
