Jess is at the heart of everything we do, making sure the people we support and the team who care for them are always looked after. What she loves most about her job is seeing the real difference we make to people's lives, and her favourite part of working here is the people and a team who genuinely care. Outside of work, you'll find her catching up with friends over a good bottomless brunch!

This September, we're wearing it Orange 🧡 From Monday 21 to Friday 25 September, New Horizons Care is proudly taking part in Wear It Orange Week to raise money for The Care Workers' Charity.

Care work is a job of the heart and the people who do it deserve support too. The Care Workers' Charity provides crisis grants to care workers facing a sudden change in circumstances, giving over £7 million to more than 14,000 care workers since 2020.

To get things started, New Horizons has donated £100, and our team across Leicester, Leicestershire, Rutland and Northampton will be wearing their brightest orange all week.

Coffee morning. Everyone welcome Wednesday 23 September, 10am–12pm at our office. Drop in for a coffee and a slice of cake, no need to let us know you're coming, just pop by.

The simple pleasures! TC enjoyed a lovely time at the park, relaxing with a cold drink and a doughnut in the sunshine. Little moments like these are what it's all about, getting outdoors, unwinding and savouring the day.

Our client S spent over three weeks in hospital recently.

Although additional in-hospital support was not funded by social services, the company made the decision to step in and support S directly. This had a clear and positive impact on her comfort and wellbeing during a very difficult period.

Important personal needs had been overlooked. S takes great pride in her hair, which had become matted and tangled — we sorted that. We attended to her bedding and sleeping arrangements, made sure she was comfortable, and spent time with her throughout the day, keeping her company until she was able to rest.

When S returned home, we chose to dedicate our monthly random act of kindness to her. At the company’s expense, we purchased a specialist cooling pillow from a specialist provider to help improve her comfort and sleep.

Care does not stop because funding lines end. Sometimes, doing the right thing matters more.

AT absolutely loves visiting the farm! Being around the animals and out in the fresh air gives AT the chance to connect with others, try new things and grow in confidence with every single visit. Whether it's helping to feed the animals or simply taking in the sights and sounds, these trips offer wonderful stimulation and a real sense of achievement.

Taking part in activities like this, and being part of the wider community, means so much to us at New Horizons Care. We're so proud of how AT has flourished, and we love supporting these special days out.
