MLD or Brazilian MLD with Wood Therapy… which one is right for you? 🌿

They both work with lymphatic flow, but the feel, focus and reason for choosing them can be very different.

🌿 Traditional Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)
This is the gentle one. Using very light, slow and rhythmic movements, MLD encourages the natural movement of lymphatic fluid without deep pressure.

It may be the better choice if you:
• experience swelling, puffiness or fluid retention
• prefer or need a very gentle touch
• are tender or bruise easily
• have a condition such as lipoedema, where firmer massage or wood therapy may not be appropriate
• want a deeply relaxing treatment while supporting your lymphatic system

✨ Brazilian MLD with Wood Therapy
This is a much more dynamic, body-focused treatment. It combines lymphatic-style drainage with firmer massage and specialised wooden tools.

It may be the better choice if you:
• want to feel less bloated or puffy
• experience temporary fluid retention
• want more visible smoothing and contouring
• enjoy a firmer, more invigorating treatment
• are looking for that immediate lighter, smoother, more sculpted feeling

Neither is better — they simply have different jobs.

Brazilian MLD & Wood Therapy is about so much more than how your body looks 🤍

Yes, we love the sculpting results, but for me it’s also about how you feel afterwards — lighter, less bloated, more comfortable and beautifully relaxed.

Using a combination of Brazilian lymphatic drainage and wooden tools, we work with the body to encourage lymphatic flow, ease fluid retention and support that lovely lighter feeling.

And the tummy work has quickly become one of my favourite parts of the treatment — gentle, rhythmic and incredibly relaxing. 🌿

Using a combination of Brazilian-style lymphatic drainage techniques and wood therapy to encourage fluid movement, reduce that puffy, heavy feeling and beautifully sculpt the body.

I love how you can see the subtle changes in the body— particularly through the waist and abdomen 🌿

And as much as I love seeing the visual results, this treatment is about how you feel too — lighter, less bloated and wonderfully relaxed.

A little more about something new that’s coming to Roundhill Retreat… 🌿

Traditional Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a very gentle, specialised treatment using slow, light and rhythmic movements to support the natural movement of lymphatic fluid around the body.

And although you may have seen me talking about lymphatic drainage as part of my new Sculpt treatments, traditional MLD is quite different.

There’s no vigorous massage, body sculpting or wood therapy. Instead, the touch is incredibly light, calm and methodical, working with the lymphatic system rather than deeply into the muscles and tissues.

It can be a lovely choice when you’re looking for something gentle and restorative, and may help with feelings of puffiness, fluid retention and heaviness while supporting healthy lymphatic flow.

I’ve actually trained in MLD previously, but rather than simply adding it back onto my treatment menu, I’ve chosen to revisit my training, refresh my knowledge and spend time practising the techniques again so that I feel completely confident in what I’m offering.

It feels like such a natural fit for the quieter, more holistic direction Roundhill Retreat is moving towards. 🤍

I’m almost ready to open my diary for MLD appointments — I’ll be sharing a little more about the treatment and who it may be suitable for over the coming weeks.

I’m a little bit obsessed with these results 🤍

This is before and immediately after a Full Body Sculpt, combining Brazilian lymphatic drainage and wood therapy.

The aim isn’t weight loss or changing your body — it’s about encouraging lymphatic flow, helping with fluid retention and bloating, and using sculpting techniques to create a more defined, contoured appearance.

I love that you can actually see the difference through the waist and tummy here, while still looking completely natural.

And because I know before & after photos can sometimes be a bit questionable… these were taken in the same room, on the same couch, during the same appointment, with no filters or editing to the body. 🌿
