We finally got the weather to get the plants in this morning been outside enjoying walks in the garden as well.

Today was our Chinese themed day. We learnt some interesting things about China, did you know the Great Wall of China was built using sticky rice to put the stones together? We also did a of dressing up and enjoyed chicken chow mien with prawn crackers for lunch. Then this afternoon a total change we made some lovely birthday cards

Look what my mum has grown for our courtyard garden, they are going to spend a week or two in our little greenhouse and then we can plant and make the courtyard lovely for summer. We are also going to grow some cucumbers, tomatoes and lettuces. Will keep you all posted with photos throughout the summer

Maintenance Operative – Full Time (40 hours)

Hallaton Manor Care Home is seeking a reliable and proactive Maintenance Operative to join our friendly 40-bed care home team.

We are looking for someone with a strong all-round maintenance skill set.

You must be able to drive and confidently complete regulatory paperwork.

This is a hands-on role involving regular interaction with residents and care staff, so we are looking for someone practical, approachable, and caring. An understanding of CQC requirements is desirable, but not essential.

A DBS check will be required and will be conducted as part of the interview process.

Essential job-related training will be given where required.

Our first afternoon back in our Garden Cafe, we will use it all summer long. It's a really relaxed place to go for coffee and a chat for our residents. Visitors coming to see their family are very welcome yo use it as well, just ask and we will get it ready for you to use.

Today we had a Mexican theme day. We learnt lots of facts about Mexico, (it has the smallest volcano in the world and largest pyramid). We also did some fun dressing up and ate amazing burettos for lunch.

Painting some cactus this afternoon ready for our Mexican day on Thursday. Can't wait as we have the mother of all sombreros, there maybe some breakages the size of it!!
