If I was 45 and wanted my skin to look fresher, I wouldn’t be trying to look younger.

I’d be focusing on healthy, supported, good-quality skin — and having a plan that actually makes sense for my skin.

I’d keep the basics consistent: SPF, skincare, sleep, hydration and looking after myself.

Then, if my skin was feeling less firm, more textured or just not as fresh as it used to, I’d consider treatments that work with the skin rather than chasing every new trend.

For me, that could include a course of microneedling to support collagen production and gradually improve things like texture, fine lines, pores and overall skin quality.

Because 40+ skin doesn’t need to be “fixed.”

It needs to be understood, supported and looked after consistently. 🤍

And honestly? I’d much rather look like a refreshed version of myself than try to look 25 again.

If your skin has started to feel different and you’re not sure what it actually needs, send me a message. We can talk through your concerns and create a plan that makes sense for you.

Things microneedling can help with that women over 40 don’t always realise…

If your skin has started to feel a little thinner, duller, less firm or you’re noticing more texture, fine lines or enlarged pores than you used to, microneedling can be a really effective treatment to consider.

As we get older, collagen production naturally slows down, which is why the skin can start to lose some of that firmness, bounce and smoothness.

Microneedling works by creating controlled micro-injuries in the skin, which encourages the skin’s natural repair process and stimulates collagen production.

So while a lot of people associate microneedling with acne scarring, it can also be really useful for women over 40 who simply want to improve the overall quality of their skin.
Think smoother texture, fresher-looking skin, softened fine lines and a more even appearance over time.

It isn’t about trying to look 20 again.

It’s about supporting your skin as it changes and helping it look as healthy, strong and refreshed as possible.

If you’re over 40 and wondering whether microneedling would be suitable for your skin, send me a message and I can talk you through it.

Microneedling isn’t just about that post-treatment glow ✨

For skin over 40, it can be a really valuable treatment for supporting collagen production and improving the overall quality, texture and firmness of the skin.
But I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach.

Your skin has changed with you — and your treatment plan should reflect that. What worked for you in your 20s or 30s may not be what your skin needs now.
Microneedling is a progressive treatment, so the aim is to work with your skin and support its natural renewal over time, rather than chasing an overnight transformation.

If you’re noticing changes in your skin and wondering whether microneedling could be suitable for you, send me a message. We can talk through your skin concerns and what might be right for you 🤍

If you’re over 40 and you want your skin looking its best by Christmas, now is when I’d start.
One of the biggest things I explain to clients is that treatments like microneedling aren’t an overnight fix.
As we get older, our natural collagen production slows down, and building it back up takes time.
Microneedling works by stimulating the skin’s natural repair process, so the improvements continue to develop in the weeks after your treatment. And depending on what we’re trying to improve, you may get better results from a course rather than relying on one appointment.
So if you’ve been noticing more fine lines, uneven texture, larger-looking pores, dullness or your skin just doesn’t have the same firmness and glow it used to, September is actually a really good time to start.
It gives us time to create a proper treatment plan, space your appointments correctly and allow your skin to gradually build those results before Christmas.
You don’t need to wait until December and try to fix everything at the last minute.
If you want to start working on your skin now, send me a message and we can chat about what would suit you.

There’s a point where I’d love to see more women stop asking:
“How do I look younger?”

And start asking:

“How do I keep my skin as healthy as possible as I age?”

Because ageing isn’t something I’m trying to remove from your face.
My approach is about improving the things we CAN influence: skin quality, hydration, texture, collagen support and the concerns that are genuinely bothering you.
Sometimes that might mean microneedling to stimulate collagen.

Sometimes it might be treating pigmentation, restoring hydration or simply getting your home skincare right before we do anything else.

And sometimes, I’ll tell you that you don’t need the treatment you thought you did.
The goal isn’t to chase the face you had at 25.

It’s to look in the mirror at 40, 50, 60 and beyond and feel good about the skin you’re in.
Healthy skin will always be the goal. 🤍

If you’ve come back from holiday, looked in the mirror and suddenly noticed every line, patch of pigmentation and bit of texture… don’t panic.

A few weeks of sun, heat, air conditioning, travel, alcohol and a change in routine can leave your skin dehydrated, dull and more reactive than usual.

And when skin is dehydrated, those fine lines can look much more noticeable too.
The answer isn’t to immediately throw every active you own at it or book the strongest treatment you can find.

First, we need to assess what your skin actually needs.

For some women, that means restoring hydration and repairing the skin barrier first. For others, we might then look at pigmentation, texture or collagen-stimulating treatments once the skin is ready.

Especially in your 40s and beyond, when perimenopause may already be changing how your skin behaves, your post-summer routine needs to be a little more considered.
Your skin probably hasn’t aged 10 years in two weeks.

It might just need some proper TLC after summer. 🤍
