I didn’t think it was possible either

“It’s my genetics”

“My metabolism is bad”

“It’s my hormones”

That’s what I told myself

I was doing 50 minutes of cardio every day

Eating a protein bar and an apple for lunch

And nothing was changing.

I was exhausted from trying to do it all

BUT...

Something changed when I started lifting weights

My body started to have shape, I looked more toned, I felt stronger and firmer

AND...

When I focused on my actual calorie intake across the whole day, rather than just eating less, I started to lose weight

The biggest change came when I accepted that more cardio and eating as little as possible wasn’t getting me the results I wanted

It was just making me feel worse.

I wanted to eat meals without worrying about weight gain or feeling guilty for enjoying a meal out.

I wanted to stop doing hours of cardio that I genuinely hated and start enjoying exercise again

Most of all, I wanted to feel confident in my body.

Lifting weights and tracking my food helped me do exactly that

To the point where I’ve now done multiple photoshoots because getting lean and having visible abs was something I was incredibly proud of achieving

And I honestly don’t think I would have got there if I’d carried on spending every morning on the cross trainer and trying to eat as little as possible throughout the day.

Sometimes the thing that’s keeping you stuck isn’t a lack of effort

It’s putting all your effort into the wrong things

✨Personal Trainer Highlight ✨

Hey, I’m Beth! I grew up as a competitive endurance runner and kept it going well into my 20s, but these days I mostly run to stay active (if my joints can handle it!). What I really love now is lifting weights, getting strong and shaping my body.

I’ve always been pretty self-conscious about my appearance, and strength training has honestly been a real eye-opener. It’s given me confidence in the gym and even when I’m getting dressed up for a night out with the girls!

That’s why I love helping others do the same. I want to help you walk into any room feeling like an absolute boss, confident in yourself and your body. I know what it’s like to feel unsure in the gym, which is why I’m so passionate about guiding you, teaching you the ropes, and helping you reach your goals without second guessing yourself.

Outside of the gym and work, you’ll probably find me walking a mountain in the Peak District and finding a great coffee shop that makes amazing cakes.

I used to be really shy and quite insecure, always chasing a body I thought would make me happy, basically just trying to be as small as possible

I’m now doing pull ups, deadlifting my body weight, and I’ve actually built curves in places I never had before, which has made me feel so much more confident in myself and how I dress

And I don’t want this to sound like fat loss doesn’t make people happy, because it can

But for me, one thing I’ve always stuck to is lifting weights

Even through fat loss phases, and even when my weight has gone up again

And what I’ve noticed is, my body still feels firm, I still look toned, even at a higher body weight

And that’s only really because I’ve built muscle underneath it all 💪🏼

And I love that!

When I was trying to be as small as possible, I just didn’t feel good in myself. I was always chasing a smaller number on the scale, hoping I’d feel happy one day

But what I have realised is, constantly chasing fat loss is exhausting.

For me, weight training is just the thing that’s made the biggest difference, not just physically, but mentally too!

I’m not the best at telling stories, but I hope this makes sense, and I hope it shows how much my body has changed over the years, and how yours can too 😊✨
