The Lodge Trust CIO Providing individual support for adults with learning disabilities in Christian homes and working environments. What do we do provide?

A Home - a loving Christian environment where each resident has a place they can call home. We have a wonderful 20 acre site, with a variety of accommodation that caters for all individual needs. Work – All residents have the opportunity to participate in work, where they can express themselves – work comes in lots of different
types, for example woodwork, crafts, horticulture, customer service and product merchandising in the café. Work opportunities are open to both residents and those who live in the surrounding towns and villages. Education – We offer training and experience accredited through ASDAN. We teach a variety of short and long courses each adapted to the individuals learning level and style. Christian Support – One of the main reasons people come to The Lodge Trust is to live in a Christian environment, where their choice of living a Christian life is respected and encouraged. That’s why we have a morning Bible reading and prayer time, attend local churches to worship God with other Christians, and enjoy one to one and group
Bible studies. Recreation – this comes in lots of different forms: swimming, horse riding, snooker, sailing and cycling. The gardens and extensive driveways leave plenty of space for residents and visitors to ride bicycles safely and enjoy the countryside without fear or danger. Also – we have a Country Park - including a café, log cabins and two caravan sites. All this provides real work opportunities for the residents and lots of recreation space.

Maintaining our lawns is no small task, but George makes it look easy! George, one of our day service users, got stuck in alongside Alison and did a fantastic job cutting the grass. A big thank you to you both for all your hard work. 👏

Happy Monday from The Lodge Trust☀️

A few weeks ago some of the residents went to Rutland Flower Show, where they chose a gorgeous sculpture for the sensory garden!

Doesn’t it look glorious in the sunshine?!☀️

Our Site Maintenance Team have been working incredibly hard over the last two weeks to create a safer, more accessible space for our bin stores. 🛠️

Those who have visited us before will know that the bins were stored at the top of the car park and our lovely, helpful residents used to have to cross the car park in order to use them.
This fabulous work will enable the residents to not only use the bins more efficiently but it also cuts out any possible dangers from being in the car park.

Although Site Maintenance work in the background they have some incredible plans for The Lodge Trust so keep an eye out when visiting and spot the new additions.
Thank you so much Steve, Gary and Terry we appreciate all that you do to keep our residents safe. 🏡

💜 October is ADHD Awareness Month! 💜

This October, we’re taking the opportunity to raise awareness and understanding of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The focus of this month will be on education, understanding, reducing stigma, and sharing helpful resources.

For everyone at The Lodge Trust, understanding each person as an individual is at the heart of what we do. Everyone experiences the world differently, and learning more about ADHD can help us provide the right support, encouragement and understanding. Because understanding leads to compassion, and everyone deserves to feel heard, valued and supported.

🍎 Anyone for an apple? 🍎

Alex and Abi had a lovely morning spent in the sunshine while picking apples from the grounds.
We make sure none of our apples for to waste! They’re used to make our delicious chutneys (which will be available at our November Sale), as well as tasty desserts for residents and cakes both in the café and for our residents!
We love making the most of what we grow! 🌿 ☀️

🌟A beautiful day for a picnic 🌟

One of our residents put in a request at our local Bowls Club for an end of season picnic, having regularly enjoyed participating during the season.

We were delighted that the club kindly welcomed some of our residents to enjoy a lovely afternoon on the bowling club lawns.

A brilliant way to enjoy the sunshine and end of Bowls season☀️
