We’re incredibly proud to have been a sponsor of Pocklington Rugby in the Community and PockDown 2026!💙

Seeing how amazing the event turned out this year really reminded us why we love supporting local charities and organisations that make such a positive difference in our community.

It was also a pleasure to receive some lovely words from the Vice Chair of Pocklington Rugby in the Community and to hear just how much our support means to them. 💙

Most importantly, seeing the smiles, laughter and happy faces throughout the day made it all worthwhile!

A huge well done to everyone involved in making PockDown 2026 such a fantastic event. We’re proud to play a small part in supporting the incredible work you do for our local community and we can't wait to support you again in the future. 👏🏉

❄️ Are you prepared for the colder months ahead? 🍂

As we move from summer into autumn and winter, now is the perfect time to get your home, car and garden ready for the colder weather.

A little preparation now can help you stay safe, warm and comfortable throughout the winter months. Here are a few things to check:

🔥 Check your heating
Make sure your radiators and heating system are working properly and efficiently. It’s better to identify any issues before the colder weather arrives.

🍂 Prepare your garden
Clear away fallen leaves and debris, check pathways for potential trip hazards, and clean and safely store outdoor furniture and gardening equipment.

🏠 Clear your gutters
Remove leaves and debris from your gutters to help prevent blockages and overflowing water. While you're there, check your roof for any visible damage or leaks.

🚗 Get your car winter-ready
Check your tyres have sufficient tread and are correctly inflated. Top up your screen wash and keep essentials such as an emergency breakdown kit and de-icer in your car.

💙 Check in on your neighbours
A simple check-in can make a big difference. Ask if their heating is working, their pathways and entrances are safe, and whether they need a little extra help preparing for winter.

A little preparation can go a long way.
We hope these simple tips help you, your family and our community feel ready for the colder months ahead.

Stay safe, stay warm and look out for one another this winter. 💙

🐾💙 Happy National Dog Day! 💙🐾

This National Dog Day, we’re celebrating more than just our four-legged friends, we’re highlighting the incredible ways dogs can have a positive impact on people’s lives.

🐕‍🦺 Service dogs can help prevent injuries
Service dogs can support individuals with a range of conditions and disabilities, including epilepsy, hearing and visual impairments, and can even be trained to detect certain allergens.

🦮 They can promote independence
From opening doors and retrieving dropped items to assisting with essential daily tasks, assistance dogs can help people carry out activities more independently and confidently.

🐶 They can provide comfort and help us feel calmer
Dogs can be incredibly responsive to changes in our behaviour and body language. For some people, their presence can provide comfort during difficult or overwhelming moments. Some assistance dogs are also trained to provide deep pressure therapy, which can help some individuals regulate and feel calmer after experiencing distress or sensory overload.

💙 Whether they’re working, supporting or simply being a loving companion, dogs can make a truly meaningful difference to our wellbeing and everyday lives.

Today, we’re celebrating all the amazing dogs and the people whose lives they help enrich! 🐾
