Tiny aesthetics myth-buster 👀

When you see “1.1 mL filler”, don’t automatically assume that means you’re getting “extra filler” compared with a 1 mL syringe.

Some products are simply manufactured and supplied as a 1.1 mL syringe, often with lidocaine already incorporated into the formulation.

So really, the important questions are:
What product is being used? What volume does that specific syringe contain? And is it appropriate for you?

Not just who can make the number on the advert look bigger 😏

Who is the September Skin Reset best for? 👀

If your skin is feeling dull, tired or congested after summer—or you’d like to improve uneven texture, visible pores or fine lines—this could be a lovely option for you.

It combines BioRePeel and microneedling across two treatments to help support collagen and leave the skin looking fresher, smoother and more radiant ✨

Still unsure whether it’s right for your skin? Comment RESET below or send me a message and I’ll happily help 🤍

🍂 YOUR AUTUMN SKINCARE RESET

The temperature drops, the heating goes back on and suddenly your skin thinks:

“Absolutely not.” 😂

Autumn is a really good time to reassess your skincare. After summer, you may notice more dehydration, dullness, pigmentation, rough texture or sensitivity — and what worked perfectly in July might not be quite enough by October.

So what would I change? 👇

🫧 1. Keep cleansing gentle

If your skin starts feeling tighter or drier, now isn’t the time to scrub it into submission!

Choose a gentle cleanser that removes SPF, makeup and daily grime without leaving your skin feeling stripped.

💧 2. Increase the hydration

Cooler weather + central heating can mean more water loss from the skin.

Look for hydrating ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and glycerin, and consider switching to a slightly richer moisturiser if your skin needs it.

✨ 3. Bring back your actives — gradually

If you reduced retinoids or exfoliating acids during summer, autumn can be a good opportunity to introduce them again.

But more isn’t better.

Introduce actives gradually and don’t throw three new products at your skin in the same week!

☀️ 4. DON’T put the SPF away

This is probably the biggest autumn skincare mistake.

SPF isn’t just for hot weather.

UVA exposure happens throughout the year and contributes to premature skin ageing and pigmentation, so broad-spectrum sunscreen should still be part of your morning routine.

🍂 5. Think about treating summer damage

Autumn is also when we can start looking at treatments such as chemical peels for concerns including dullness, uneven texture and pigmentation.

Depending on your skin and what we’re trying to achieve, that might mean a lower-downtime option such as BioRePeel or a more intensive treatment such as The Perfect Peel.

🤍 But don’t overcomplicate it.

A good autumn routine doesn’t need 14 products.

Cleanse. Treat. Moisturise. SPF.

Then we add anything else because your skin actually needs it — not because TikTok told you to. 😂

Healthy skin doesn’t come from having the biggest bathroom cabinet.

It comes from consistency and using the right products for YOUR skin. 🍂✨

Sometimes, adding more filler isn’t the answer. Sometimes the best thing we can do is start again. 🤍

This lovely client came to me with previous lip filler that had started to sit unevenly and had lost some of the natural definition of the lip.

Rather than trying to correct this by simply adding more product, we made the decision to dissolve the existing filler first, allow the lips to settle, and then carefully rebuild them.

The result? ✨
A softer, cleaner lip shape with improved definition, better balance and a much more natural appearance.

This is exactly what I mean when I talk about my approach to lip filler:

Anatomy first.
Balance over volume.
Structure before more product.
And knowing when NOT to inject.

Dissolving isn’t a failure and it doesn’t mean you can never have filler again. In the right patient, it can give us the clean foundation we need to create a much prettier and more considered result.

These lips were then refilled conservatively — not to make them dramatically bigger, but to restore shape, support and softness while still looking completely like her.

Soft. Balanced. Anatomically considered. Still completely you. 🤍

Individual results vary. Assessment and consultation are required before treatment.

🍂 BIOREPEEL vs THE PERFECT PEEL

Two peels. Two very different treatments. Which one would I recommend for you?

Patients often ask me which chemical peel is the “best” — but actually, it depends on your skin, your concerns and how much downtime you’re prepared to have.

✨ BIOREPEEL — the low-downtime refresh

BioRePeel is my choice when you want to improve the appearance of:

• Dull or tired-looking skin
• Uneven texture
• Fine lines
• Congestion and blemish-prone skin
• General skin quality

The big appeal? Minimal downtime.

You may experience some dryness or light flaking afterwards, but it isn’t designed around having a dramatic visible peel.

It’s brilliant if you want something you can incorporate into your routine without disappearing for a week — and it can be performed as a course of treatments for progressive improvement.

Think: fresh, smooth, glowing skin without the big peel.

🍌 THE PERFECT PEEL — when you want something stronger

The Perfect Peel is a different experience.

It’s a medium-depth chemical peel containing a blend of acids and other ingredients and is designed for more intensive skin resurfacing.

I may consider this when concerns include:

• Pigmentation and uneven skin tone
• Sun damage
• Acne and post-acne marks
• Fine lines and signs of ageing
• More significant texture concerns

But with greater intensity comes more downtime.

You should expect visible peeling — typically beginning a few days after treatment — so this is one you actually need to plan into your diary!

Think: a more intensive skin reset with proper peeling and downtime.

🤍 SO WHICH WOULD I CHOOSE?

Want a regular skin refresh with minimal disruption?
→ BioRePeel.

Want a more intensive resurfacing treatment and happy to peel?
→ The Perfect Peel.

Neither is automatically “better”.

The best peel is the one that suits your skin, your goals and your lifestyle.

And September is the PERFECT time to start thinking about undoing some of what summer has thrown at our skin. 🍂✨

02/09/2026

I’ve decided my own skin needs a little reset too ✨

Nothing dramatic, no chasing perfection — just focusing on skin health, texture, glow and giving my skin a bit of attention after a busy few months.

So I’m doing exactly what I recommend in clinic: a course combining BioRePeel + microneedling, then repeating it again in around 4 weeks.

I’ll share how my skin gets on along the way — completely unfiltered, because I think it’s nice to actually see the process rather than just the polished before & after 🤍

✨ WHAT WOULD NURSE RACHEL RECOMMEND?

“I don’t know what treatment I need… I just feel like I look older.”

If you said this to me in clinic, I wouldn’t expect you to know what treatment you need.

That’s my job.

You don’t need to arrive saying:

“I need 2ml of cheek filler, Profhilo and Botox.”

You just need to tell me what you’re noticing and what you’d like to improve.

Then I look at the why. 👇

🔎 Has your face lost volume or support?

Age-related volume changes can make the cheeks look flatter, create hollowing and contribute to changes through the lower face.

💉 Are your muscles creating lines or downward pull?

Some of the changes we associate with ageing are caused by repeated facial movement or the action of muscles pulling particular areas downwards.

💧 Has your skin changed?

Fine lines, crepey texture, dullness, dehydration and reduced elasticity can make a huge difference to how fresh the face looks — even when you don’t need any additional volume.

✨ Is there skin laxity?

Sometimes the main change is simply that the skin isn’t as firm as it once was.

And this is important because not everything can — or should — be treated with injectables.

🤍 Usually, it’s a combination of little things.

Ageing doesn’t happen in one isolated area.

Our skin, fat, bone, muscles and facial proportions all change over time.

That’s why I assess the whole face, even if there’s one particular area bothering you.

And sometimes my recommendation might be filler.

Sometimes wrinkle-relaxing treatment.

Sometimes Profhilo, Structura, polynucleotides, a peel or another skin treatment.

Sometimes a combination.

And sometimes I’ll tell you you don’t need anything at all.

A consultation shouldn’t start with:

“What treatment would you like?”

It should start with:

“What is bothering you?”

Then we work out whether there’s something I can safely and realistically do to help.

Because you don’t need to become an aesthetics expert before you walk through my door.

That’s what I’m here for. 🤍
