My client returned for her annual lip enhancement following previous dermal filler treatment.

Assessment showed a gradual reduction in her previous result, while her underlying lip shape and proportions remained well maintained. Treatment was therefore focused on restoring volume and definition without unnecessarily altering her established lip shape.

Dermal filler was placed to improve definition through the upper lip and Cupid’s bow, restore projection and maintain appropriate balance between the upper and lower lip.

Not every lip filler appointment is about adding more volume. In this case, 0.5ml was used to maintain the existing result, replacing volume that has naturally reduced over time and preserving the overall shape of the lips.

Dermal filler gradually breaks down over time, so smaller top-up treatments can help maintain lip support, definition and hydration without the need for larger volumes at each appointment.

Not every lip enhancement needs to be 1ml. This result was achieved using just 0.5ml of dermal filler.

By carefully placing a small volume of filler, it was possible to improve definition, increase hydration and provide gentle support to the lips whilst maintaining their natural proportions.

The aim was refinement rather than transformation, creating a result that looks balanced both at rest and in expression.

Every treatment begins with a facial assessment to determine the most appropriate approach for the individual, rather than using the same volume or technique for every client.

My client was concerned about a tired appearance caused by volume loss through the mid-face and under-eye area.

For this treatment, dermal filler was used to restore support to the malar (cheek) region, helping to improve the transition between the lower eyelid and cheek. By replacing lost structural support in the mid-face, it is often possible to reduce the appearance of hollowing beneath the eyes without directly overfilling the tear trough itself.

My client wanted a subtle enhancement whilst maintaining a natural lip shape.

Using 0.5ml of dermal filler, the treatment focused on improving lip definition and adding gentle volume to both the upper and lower lip. Particular attention was paid to supporting the vermilion border and enhancing the natural contours of the lips without creating an overfilled appearance.

A great example of how dermal filler isn’t always about creating larger lips.

For my client, a conservative amount of filler was used to:

• Restore subtle lip definition
• Improve hydration and support within the lips
• Soften perioral (“smoker’s”) lines around the mouth
