This week at Blenheim House Care Home, we were delighted to welcome the wonderful Melksham Beavers for a very special visit.

Our residents thoroughly enjoyed spending time playing board games, chatting together, and taking part in a fascinating question-and-answer session. It was a fantastic opportunity for different generations to come together, share experiences, stories, and plenty of laughter.

Intergenerational activities like these bring so many benefits. They help reduce loneliness, encourage meaningful social interaction, stimulate memories and conversation, and create a wonderful sense of community and belonging for everyone involved. The Beavers were a credit to their group, showing kindness, enthusiasm, and genuine interest in our residents’ lives.

A huge thank you to the Melksham Beavers and their leaders for taking the time to visit us. Your company brightened our week, and your visit was truly appreciated by residents, families, and colleagues alike. We look forward to welcoming you back to Blenheim House again soon!

⚽️🏴 It’s coming home… to Blenheim House! 🏴⚽️

The excitement is building at Blenheim House Care Home as our residents proudly show their support for the England football team during the World Cup!

Yesterday, everyone enjoyed a wonderful creative session painting and decorating beautiful wooden England shirts, which are now proudly displayed on residents’ doors throughout the home. The activity sparked lots of conversation, laughter and memories of World Cups gone by, with many residents sharing stories of cheering on England over the years.

Activities like these are so much more than arts and crafts. They help our residents stay connected to major events, express themselves creatively, socialise with friends, and maintain a sense of belonging and community. Supporting England together gives everyone something exciting to look forward to and helps create meaningful moments that enhance wellbeing and happiness.

At Blenheim House, we believe in creating opportunities for our residents not just to live, but to thrive. From creative activities and reminiscence to sharing in national celebrations, we love bringing people together and making every day meaningful.

🌻🌞 Sunflower Competition Time at Blenheim House! 🌞🌻

Our residents have been busy out in the gardens planting their sunflower seedlings into the raised beds, and now the competition is officially on to see who can grow the tallest sunflower! 🌻🏆

There was plenty of excitement, laughter and friendly rivalry as everyone took part, carefully planting and watering their sunflowers while enjoying the beautiful sunshine and fresh air.

Spending time outdoors is so important for wellbeing, providing opportunities for gentle exercise, social interaction, reminiscence and connection with nature. Our residents love getting involved in gardening activities, and everyone has the chance to take part and watch their sunflower grow throughout the summer.

We can’t wait to see which sunflower reaches for the sky and claims the title of Blenheim House’s Tallest Sunflower 2026! 🌻☀️

✨ A Big Thank You from Blenheim House Care Home ✨

This afternoon at Blenheim House Care Home, we were delighted to welcome Terry and Jenny, who treated our residents to a wonderful display of beautiful ballroom and Latin dancing. 💃🕺

From the elegant moves to the stunning, colourful costumes, it was a truly special afternoon enjoyed by all. Our residents loved watching the different styles of dance and sharing memories, stories, and smiles together.

Activities like these are so important, encouraging reminiscence, sparking happy memories, and bringing everyone together socially to enjoy such joyful and colourful moments. ❤️

A huge thank you again to Terry and Jenny for giving us such a wonderful afternoon, we thoroughly enjoyed every moment! 🌟

🎶 What a Wonderful Afternoon at Blenheim House! 🎶

This afternoon, our gardens came alive with music as the amazing Rock Choir joined us at Blenheim House for a truly wonderful event! 🌞🎤

What a fantastic time everybody had, with so many lovely comments from residents, families, and colleagues about the brilliant atmosphere. The Rock Choir were absolutely incredible and certainly had us rocking the joint! 🎶💃🕺

With the sunshine shining brightly, residents and visitors relaxed under the parasols and pergola, enjoying soft drinks in the garden whilst listening to beautiful music in such a lovely setting. ☀️🥤🌺

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to support the afternoon and, of course, to the Rock Choir for giving us such a fabulous performance and creating so many happy memories. An extra thank you to the lady signing every song for us! Truly memorable day!

What a perfect way to spend a sunny afternoon together! 💙

🌿✨ Today we enjoyed a wonderful visit to the sensory,upcycled Waitrose garden with our residents from Blenheim House as part of Dementia Awareness Week. ✨🌿

A huge thank you to Lucy Allsworth, Waitrose, and Jo Bayliss for all of the hard work, kindness, and collaboration that has gone into creating this beautiful community sensory garden. 💚 It was truly lovely to see such a special space designed to engage the senses, with things to touch, see, smell, and even taste.

We were also delighted that some of the lovely ladies who made the beautiful pom-poms for the tree were able to join us on the trip out, making the day even more meaningful. 🌸

This week, during Dementia Awareness Week, we continue to celebrate and appreciate those living with dementia, recognising the importance of meaningful experiences, connection, reminiscence, and sensory engagement. Days like today show just how valuable community spirit can be in bringing smiles and creating special memories.

Thank you to everyone involved in making today so special for our residents. 💙
