September sounds 🍂

There’s something about September that always feels like a threshold. The light is changing. The evenings are drawing in. Summer hasn’t quite disappeared, but autumn is beginning to make itself known - and the Autumn Equinox invites us into that beautiful point of balance between light and dark.

This month’s sound offerings gently follow that seasonal shift…

FRIDAY 11 SEPTEMBER — ACU-GONG, THRUSSINGTON

We begin this Friday evening with Acu-Gong - an intimate collaboration of acupuncture and therapeutic sound with Dr Carolyn Eddleston of Cycles of Change.

A chance to stop, receive and allow two powerful practices to work together: acupuncture supporting the body’s own systems of balance and regulation, while gong, bowls and other therapeutic sounds create space for deep rest and integration.

A lovely way to begin September’s inward turn.

SUNDAY 20 SEPTEMBER — SUNSET SOUND, WALTHAM ON THE WOLDS

As we approach the Autumn Equinox, we gather at sunset in Waltham for an evening of sound centred around balance.

Not perfect balance. Not holding everything neatly together.

More a chance to notice where we might soften, where we’ve been giving too much, what we’re ready to put down - and what we want to carry with us into the darker half of the year.

Come exactly as you are, lie down, get cosy and let the sounds do the work.

TUESDAY 22 SEPTEMBER — 6PM SOUND, MOUNTSORREL

On the Equinox itself, we gather at Mountsorrel Memorial Centre for our 6pm Sound Journey.

Equal light. Equal dark. A moment of pause between seasons.

We’ll use sound as a way of marking that turning point - grounding, settling and making a little space before autumn gathers pace.

A beautiful evening to step away from everything for an hour and simply receive.

FRIDAY 25 SEPTEMBER - 1:1 INTEGRAL SOUND HEALING, CYCLES OF CHANGE

And later in the month I have a couple of private appointments available at Cycles of Change.

These one-to-one Integral Sound Healing sessions are completely shaped around you, using therapeutic sound both on and around the body.

They can be especially supportive when you’re moving through change, feeling depleted or overwhelmed or simply sensing that you need some quieter, more individual space.

September feels like a month for listening.

To the season.
To the body.
To what feels out of balance.
And perhaps to what is quietly asking to change.

🍂 Booking details for each session are on the Berry & Bloom website : https://www.berryandbloom.com/book-events/

Two weeks today, we’ll gather again at Waltham on the Wolds for our next Sunday Sunset Sound.

And this one falls at such a beautiful point in the year.

Just two days before the Autumn Equinox, we’ll be meeting at that moment of almost-equal light and dark — a natural pause between seasons, and an invitation to notice where we might need a little more balance too.

September can so easily become a month of rushing back into things.

Back to work.
Back to school.
Back to routines, fuller diaries and all the things that suddenly need doing.

So perhaps this is your reminder to book something into the diary that asks absolutely nothing of you.

90 minutes to lie down.
To be still.
To let the body soften.
To listen.

I’ll guide us gently into the evening before surrounding you with the resonant sounds of gongs, Himalayan and crystal singing bowls, chimes, monochord and more — creating space to rest, release some of the noise and feel into what balance might mean for you as we cross into autumn.

If you’re one of my Waltham regulars and have been meaning to book, consider this your little nudge. 🤍

And if you’ve never experienced a sound bath before, you are very welcome. There is nothing you need to know or do, no particular way you need to feel and no experience of meditation is required.

Simply come as you are.

There was something very beautiful about the way the evening shifted through last night’s Mountsorrel Sound Journeys. 🌙

At 6pm, we were still in the warmth of a late-summer evening — air con running beforehand to cool the room, the light still holding outside, summer still very much present.

Then, by the time we began the 8pm session, dusk was already gathering. The light had changed completely and, as everyone settled, the almost-full moon rose outside, quietly bathing us in her glow.

It felt like such a reflection of this moment in the year: still summer, but with change unmistakably in the air. Holidays beginning to end, September approaching, familiar routines returning and the pace of life beginning to shift.

So we paused.

To honour late summer.
To notice what this season has given us.
To rest before the rhythm changes.
And perhaps to consider not only what we are returning to, but how we want to meet it.

Thank you to everyone who came and shared the space.

Our next Mountsorrel Sound Journeys fall on the Autumn Equinox — Tuesday 22 September — a beautiful point of balance between light and dark, and a perfect moment to pause again as we move more fully into the new season.

Booking is open ✨

A handful of spaces for Tuesday evening…

We’re in that lovely late-summer in-between.

Summer hasn’t quite left us, but September is waiting in the wings — bringing school terms, work rhythms, fuller diaries and the familiar pull back into routine.

Before all of that begins, how about giving yourself 90 minutes where absolutely nothing is required of you?

On Tuesday evening I’ll be back at Mountsorrel Memorial Centre with gongs, Himalayan and crystal singing bowls, chimes, percussion and more — creating an immersive landscape of sound in which you can simply lie down, get comfortable and receive.

A chance to let the body soften.
To quieten some of the mental noise.
To savour these last days of August.
And perhaps to meet the changing rhythm from a more rested, grounded place.

There are now just a handful of spaces remaining across both sessions:

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, late summer sits between the expansive, outward energy of summer and the more inward energy of autumn.

It is traditionally associated with the Earth element – grounding, nourishment, stability and integration.
And after such a long, hot and expansive summer, I think many of us could use a little of all of those things.

The return to routine can be a difficult transition.
Perhaps you’ve noticed yourself feeling tired but wired, a little scattered, reluctant to let summer go, or simply aware that your body hasn’t quite caught up with the changing rhythm.

We don’t have to rush the turning of the season.
This is why I’m particularly excited about our next Acu-Gong with Carolyn Eddleston of .

✨ Acupuncture + sound✨ Stillness + vibration✨ Individual treatment + immersive sound journey

Acu-Gong brings together Carolyn’s Traditional Acupuncture with my live sound journey, creating a deeply nourishing evening designed around rest, reflection and the transition into the next season.

We begin with guided meditation, breathwork and intention setting. Carolyn then works individually with each person, selecting acupuncture points according to your intention and individual needs, while I gradually build a landscape of quartz crystal and Himalayan singing bowls and planetary-tuned gongs around you.

For approximately an hour, you can simply lie back and receive.

No rushing.
No doing.
No need to make the transition happen.

Just space to land, breathe, listen and allow yourself to be supported.

Perhaps this is what late summer asks of us:
To gather what has nourished us.
To release what we no longer need.
To give ourselves time to integrate.
And to enter autumn with a little more steadiness.

✨ A little space to come home to yourself… ✨

Next Friday I’ll be back at the beautiful, peaceful clinic at for 1:1 Integral Sound Healing sessions.

I have availability at 🕙 10am and 🕔 5pm

This is very different from a group sound bath.

In a 1:1 session, we have the time and space to work with you — your intention, your body and what you need in that moment.

You’ll lie comfortably, fully clothed, while I work with a carefully chosen combination of gongs, crystal and Himalayan bowls, tuning forks, chimes and percussion, both around and, with your permission, directly on the body.

There’s something very special about this beautiful space too.

Quiet, peaceful and surrounded by nature, it gives you the chance to step away from the noise of everyday life and simply receive.

No experience of sound healing is needed.
You don’t need to know exactly what you’re looking for.
You don’t need to do anything.
Just arrive, breathe, listen and allow yourself to rest.

If you’ve been feeling the need to pause, reset, reconnect or simply give yourself some uninterrupted time to be… perhaps this is your invitation.

🌾 Late summer - The fifth season - A time to land.

We often think of the year as four seasons, but Traditional Chinese Medicine recognises a fifth: Late Summer — the precious in-between time when the fullness and expansiveness of summer begins its gradual turning towards autumn.

It’s associated with the Earth element — grounding, nourishment, stability and integration. A time to gather ourselves, digest what the summer has brought and prepare gently for the season ahead.

And after such a wonderfully warm, expansive summer, perhaps this is exactly what we need.

Before September brings the return of routines, school runs, work rhythms and fuller diaries, there is still a little space to pause.

To breathe.
To listen.
To let the summer settle within us.

Sunday Sunset Sound — this weekend

Join me at Waltham on the Wolds for an evening sound journey as the light begins to soften and the week draws to a close.

If the weather is kind, we’ll be outdoors beneath the evening sky, if we’re indoors we’ll open up the windows and doors allowing the sounds of nature to weave themselves into the gongs, singing bowls, chimes and resonance.

A chance to step out of doing and simply receive.
To reflect on what has grown this summer.
To release what you’re ready to leave behind.
And to gently prepare yourself for the turning of the season.

You don’t have to rush into autumn.
Come and linger here, in the fifth season, for a little while longer.

LATE SUMMER SOUND - The fifth season

A time to pause, gather, ground & gently turn towards autumn.

Summer isn’t quite over.
Autumn isn’t quite here.

The light is changing.
The evenings are drawing in.
Something is shifting.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, this beautiful in-between is known as Late Summer — the fifth season.

A time for nourishment, grounding, integration and coming home to ourselves.

You don’t have to rush the turning of the wheel.

Perhaps late summer is asking us to savour what remains.

To gather in what has nourished us.

To carry the warmth with us.

And to make the transition gently.

A minute to pause.

Sculpture in movement.
Blue sky above. Nature all around.
Watch the spinning cosmos gently turn… and then, slowly, come to rest.
A domed stone gazebo.
A pine cone sculpture.
Sunlight, space and stillness.

Perhaps there’s something here to notice about our own rhythm too — movement and stillness, doing and simply being.

Take a minute.
Breathe.
Look.
Listen.
Let yourself settle.

🌑 The sky has shifted.

Yesterday we witnessed and / or felt that extraordinary solar eclipse — the Moon passing across the Sun, bringing a moment of darkness into the light.

And today we move into the quiet space that follows.

A new moon.

The heart of August.

The first gentle signs of late summer.

There is something about this point in the year that invites us to pause.
Summer is still here - the warmth, the long evenings, the abundance - but underneath it all, the wheel is beginning to turn.

September will bring routines, commitments and a different rhythm.
But we don’t have to rush there.

Sunday 23rd August | 7.30–9pm

Join me at Waltham on the Wolds for an evening sound journey created especially for this beautiful threshold between summer and autumn.

And if the weather is kind, we’ll take the sound outdoors beneath the open sky. 🌿
Birdsong.
Breeze.
The fading light.
Gongs, bowls, chimes and resonance.

A chance to let the week fall away.
To reflect on what has grown.
To release what you’re ready to leave behind.
To rest deeply before the pace changes again.

A Sunday evening to pause, listen and gently prepare for the turning of the season.

Bring your mat, blankets and cosy layers and come exactly as you are.
