New service starting on Monday!

Fife's new GP-led Walk-In Service (Urgent Care) will open in Buckhaven on Monday (24 August).

Based at Randolph Wemyss Memorial Hospital, it's designed to complement existing services, helping people get the right care, in the right place, at the right time.

✅ No appointment needed
✅ Same-day assessment for urgent, non-emergency conditions
✅ Open Monday to Friday, 10am to 6pm
✅ Available to people aged 3 and over
✅ Initially available to patients registered with GPs in Leven, Methil, Buckhaven, and Kennoway

Demand will be closely monitored, with the intention to expand the service to patients across Fife in the coming months.

Due to staff shortages this week, we have safely reached our appointment capacity for today and are unable to offer any further routine appointments.

If you have an urgent medical issue that cannot wait until the next working day, please contact the practice and your situation will be assessed by our team.

WHERE WERE YOU?

This morning, between 8am and 1:30pm, 9 patients did not attend their phlebotomy appointment (bloods/BP).

This resulted in 1 hour and 35 minutes of clinical time being lost, time that could have been used to see other patients waiting for an appointment.

Please remember to cancel your appointment if it is no longer needed or you are unable to attend. This allows us to offer the appointment to another patient.

Just thought I would give you all a little update on where we are at with the building work. As you can see we have corridors and can see where each new consulting room will be. At the moment our Phlebotomy room is getting a window hence the noise. This will make that room more comfortable for staff to use. We will update as we go, however hopefully still on track for completion late November!

LOUD NOISE UPDATE
We are hopefully back up and running now the noise has settled. There will be some noise on Thursday this week (23rd July) again only in the morning while they cut through the outside of window that is being placed within our Phlebotomy room. We will try to keep the disruption to a minimum and hopefully it wont be as loud inside the building. Many thanks- Updated photos coming soon!
