My tiredness taught me to stop- stop striving and doing when it doesn’t feel right.

My exhaustion taught me to change. That stress (ignored) causes physical illness. That I needed consistent - deep - rest and stillness.

I’ve listened and dedicated to practises that have made a change. It’s not perfect, it’s a bit messy, I still snap at my kids when I’m nackered but it’s a “PRACTISE” and I am SO grateful for these lessons.

In my rest and stillness I have learnt we need to follow our cycles. Whether that’s physical, the cycle of our life we find ourselves in or the cycles of nature. I have based my practise on this cycle that emerged for me….

- ROOTED - there’s a time we need to go underground, to dive deeply inside and practise the inner work and awareness ….

STILLNESS- here everything is still before the growth- it’s all about integration and the pause before expansion . The space to allow dreams to come to you rather than striving.

BLOOM- only then those ideas, your creativity, whatever you are “birthing” in the world will emerge in its own way- before you get in the way!

This cycle can be applied to anything in life- it doesn’t just relate to business or projects.

If you are feeling tired or the exhaustion is creeping in it’s time for you to get rooted, find stillness and dive into this cycle for you to bloom just like you’re meant to.

I am offering support with this - (I’m still in the stillness phase but here’s a sneak peek coming this summer!!🫣 😬)

🐝Buzz (a FREE subscription of emails and a monthly Yoga Nidra and support with everything to do with rest and my offerings- 1:1 therapies, training, circles and events)

🐝 Soulful rest immersion - this goes deep and offers the transformational and valuable experiences to support you at every step for a full 30 days of deep Nervous System Reset and balance.

More info coming (when it blooms in its own time) I can’t wait to welcome you ❤️❤️❤️🙏🐝

Why is it - when we’re stressed or exhausted we seem to get ill and just seem to get one thing after another?

It’s complicated but part of the answer (which I find really fascinating) is “Lymphocytes”. (Yeah I know I’m an anatomy geek but bear with me…!)

35% - 41% lymphocyte count = Healthy - regulated nervous system - feeing rested and immune system in good state! Occasional illness

20% -30% nervous system is not balanced, body is tired, high cortisol and stress hormones - prone to regular illness

Below 20% - chronic illness / immunity issues

This fluctuates and research supports that
🐝 mindfulness & meditation
🐝 breathwork
🐝 acupressure and moxibustion
🐝 reflexology

all help to regulate the nervous system and positively effect the percentage of lymphocytes - raising the % improving their effectiveness and helping immunity.

Rest isn’t a nice treat - deep rest and consistently regulating your nervous system is a necessity.

I am offering all of these practises as 1:1 sessions and if you are interested in learning more something exciting is coming later this year!
Watch this space! 🙏🐝❤️

Have you ever found yourself saying things like
“I seem ok to everyone else, maybe I’m ok?”
“I’m good at coping and holding it all together, I’ll be fine”
“I don’t know what I feel anymore but I’ll just get through”
“I can’t stop now I just don’t have time”

So you carry on- have a brave face behind a smile but what is actually going on under the surface?

When you’re alone how do you feel?

The guilt when you take it out on those closest to you when you’ve been holding it in all day - or all week and you just can’t hold back anymore.

On a recent day out to Forbidden corner (this is an awesome place if you’ve never been) we stopped off at Aysgarth Falls. I love this tree and everytime I visit and spend time with her it reminds me of what would we look like if our roots were there to bare for everyone to see? What would it feel to be so exposed?

It reminds me that our nervous system is like these roots, it does the work un-noticed, keeping us balanced, allowing us to thrive and grow. But when we have an internal battle going on and the person people see isn’t our true self it’s a sign we need to stop. Our Nervous system is struggling and it’s time to listen.

Stop and feel grounded like the roots.
Stop and feel- like REALLY what’s going on?
What does by body need?
What is my soul calling for?

So if you resonate with this I hear you, it’s not failing it’s just life- so I invite you to FEEL! Just like this tree 🌳 🙏🐝

Do you ever feel like you’re “just coping?”

We all have days like that… even weeks. I did, and I’ve realised that was a sign I ignored.
But when it becomes months of barely getting through the days, or even the hours, that’s often the quiet sign of burnout creeping in.

You’re so good at holding it all together.
Managing the mental load. Showing up. Keeping going.
But underneath… the tiredness builds.
The disconnection grows.
And you don’t quite feel like you anymore. For me it was crying in the kitchen nearly every night at 5pm overwhelmed with the demands of 4 kids and the thought of tea, washing up, bath and bed. I never used to feel like this, what’s wrong with me?

Looking back, there were so many whispers.
So many signs my body was asking me to slow down
and I didn’t fully listen.
Until I couldn’t ignore it anymore.

The hardest lesson I’ve learnt?
When you reach that point, the road back isn’t quick or easy. I thought a couple of weeks off would do the trick- it didn’t even scratch the surface. I needed a full overhaul.
And truthfully… you don’t return to your “old self”.

I feel I’ve become a new version of me and this new self.
One that’s more connected, softer, slower…
and ultimately, happier.

That’s why I do the work I do and I love it -
to support women BEFORE they reach that point,
to gently reset their nervous systems before burnout takes hold. Or if like me you don’t listen to your whispers I can gently work with you through recovery to discover your new self.

If this resonates, take a moment for yourself today and ask are you “just coping?” Or do you want more?
And if you feel called, you’re always welcome to reach out or explore this work with me. 🐝❤️🙏

Something feels off - When you’re run down, you’re tired, irritable or exhausted it can feel like the “joy dial” has been turned down.

Your old self used to feel excited, joyful, take pleasure in things - but if you’re going through a big hormonal shift, transition or you’re in one of those stages of life when everything feels off - it’s like you have lost that self. It can feel scary.

Will I ever feel like myself again? What do I enjoy anymore? What gives me joy anyway? It’s like a re-discovery- and you need to notice.

So my invitation to you this May is to notice the small stuff. Joy can be a tiny spark, a fleeting feeling but if we pay attention to these little “glimmers”, like really FEEL them we are letting our nervous system know everything is ok.
You’re getting to know your self again.

Personally I’ve been trying to make an effort with this practice and found it really helped me to start to feel “me” again and the women I work with (who I’ve already shared this practise with) agree.

I’ve set up a folder on my phone called “May glimmers” and see what I notice! I’d love to see / hear about yours too in the comments!

Let’s see how much Joy we can find in the small stuff no matter how tired or busy we are.

If you’re looking for some extra support to help regulate your nervous system and find deep rest I have “Soulful Rest Immersion” coming soon! Keep a look out!

This is uncomfortable for me and one of those “should I / shouldn’t I?” posts,

but I’m putting my hands up and being brave

I am burnt out.

I have considerably reduced my working hours the last couple of months. I’ve not allowed it to affect the quality of my therapies with clients but even with reduced hours burnout has still kept on creeping in.

My life around my work (raising 4 kids and many animals!) also packing and preparing for a house move is pretty chaotic and I have found I wasn’t brave enough to “dare to rest” when I needed to.

For now, I’m taking the pressure off. I might be quieter here for a while… but I may share little pieces of my recovery along the way. In the hope that my story may help others living on the edge of burnout.

Thank you so much to the clients I have had to reschedule, for your generous support, love and understanding.

If you have an appointment with me and you haven’t heard from me that means it can still go ahead. (I’m just keeping it to a minimum) And for everyone else I’m sure I will be back stronger and wiser to help you again. 🤞❤️🥰🐝🌸

“Be excessively gentle with yourself”

A little blessing for anyone out there today who needed to hear this! 🙏🥰

I know a lot of my clients lately seem to be exhausted so this is for you as we go gentle with ourselves! Gradually coming back to yourself with a “new respect for your heart and a new joy of slow time!” SLOW TIME

I love seeing the difference of when a client enters the Hive (feeling exhausted, overwhelmed and heavy) to that when they leave - visibly lighter, relaxed, a smile on their face and the feeling of “coming home” to herself.

I am following my own advice and being gentle with myself this week, and resting (when I can) as I recover from a chest infection and just feeling “bleh”.

I first heard this poem being sang by Uma Dindsmore Tuli at the end of a gorgeous Yoga Nidra. I loved it then and thanks to my friend Jen for my birthday book of poetry I have been enjoying it again! ❤️

If you’re tired of “just coping” with symptoms or issues such as pain, fatigue, endometriosis, PCOS, menopause, anxiety, migraines (or other womens health conditions).

If you’re tired of the disappointment of trying to conceive and feel helpless.

If you’re tired of the medicalisation of pregnancy and are looking for some emotional and alternative support.

Or if you’re just tired of coping with life in general, the mental load and the everyday stresses….

The Hive is here for you! Through a range of therapies we can find a treatment plan or a one off session to give you exactly what you need to gently ease you back to your best self.

I myself have felt like I’m “just coping” lately and with antibiotics for a chest infection, a flare up of asthma, menopause and tiredness I am trying to put into practise what I preach. (But don’t always get it right!!)
I have been going to see the amazing Rachel which is helping and can’t wait for my massage with Silja (Thanks James for my birthday present) I have regular “treatment swaps” with other therapists too and can’t wait for reflexology (my ultimate favourite) with .

Without all this and my meditation / movement and rest practises I don’t know what state I would be in at the moment. It’s so hard finding the time I would like for myself with a family full of kids and animals (and I think my body is telling me it’s not enough at the moment) but little and often is the key at this stage.

Energetically there is so much going on in the world and the collective, anyone sensitive will be feeling it right now. So self care is a priority.

So I will make sure to get a little more time to step it up a bit and gently move towards my better self!

And to anyone else out there struggling- I hope to welcome you to the Hive too to assist in your healing whatever that may be. 🙏🌸🐝

Don’t get me wrong here! I can’t wait for my little (half spilt) breakfast in bed (if I’m lucky)!
Last year it was cranberry sauce on bread - mistaken jam and ban on kid using the toaster! 😳

But on this day I am so aware of other women’s experience. ❤️🙏

Thanks to Cecily for her blog last week on this topic that really put into words how I’ve felt for years and not being able to express it!

So whoever or whatever you are “mothering” or who are celebrating I hope you have a day filled with love, acceptance and gratitude!!! 🐝🐝🐝 xx

🌸🐝On International Women’s day I have been reflecting on my work.🐝🌸

These pages are my love letter to women

This folder of clients notes is just a snap shot of the thousands of women I have been so lucky to work with.
(And reminds me of a time before digital forms!)

For 10 years I have dedicated my work to women — through yoga, pregnancy yoga, mam & baby classes, and therapies.

This folder of names brings back so many memories - my first ever pregnancy classes when I was pregnant myself, the first time m**s making friends for life at Baby Bees yoga classes, all the women who have been with me for therapies from the start.

Today, on International Women’s Day, I give thanks to every single woman who has chosen me. Those women who shared her story, breathed through change, and allowed herself to be held.

Thank you for letting me share this journey with you.

This work has shaped me as much as it has supported you 🤍

Love Steph 🙏🐝❤️
