💔 PLEASE HELP US GET PRIORY WOODS’ MINIBUSES BACK ON THE ROAD 💔

I am absolutely heartbroken and angry writing this.

Three minibuses at Priory Woods School and Arts College in Middlesbrough have been badly damaged.

Just look at the photographs.

Smashed windows. A destroyed windscreen. Damage inside the vehicles.

One of these minibuses is particularly close to our hearts — The Teesside Family Foundation contributed £30,000 towards it.

But this isn't about £30,000.

IT'S ABOUT THE CHILDREN. ❤️

Priory Woods supports children with special educational needs and disabilities, and these buses are not a luxury.

They are a lifeline.

They get children to and from school and allow them to experience the things every child deserves — the beach, the woods, the theatre, theme parks, school trips and days out.

They provide freedom, inclusion, independence and memories.

And with the children due back at school next week, three of those lifelines are now off the road.

So we're doing what Teesside does best.

WE'RE COMING TOGETHER. ❤️

We've launched a JustGiving appeal to help Priory Woods get these vital minibuses repaired or replaced and back where they belong — supporting the children.

🙏 PLEASE DONATE — WHATEVER YOU CAN AFFORD.

£5. £10. £20. Every single donation will help.

And if you can't donate, PLEASE SHARE THIS POST.

Whoever did this may have smashed the windows.

BUT WE WILL NOT LET THEM TAKE AWAY THESE CHILDREN'S OPPORTUNITIES.

Let's show Priory Woods what this community is made of.

LET'S GET THEIR BUSES BACK ON THE ROAD. 🚌❤️

🌈Sending your neurodivergent or medically complex child to nursery brings a completely different layer of anxiety.
You aren’t just worried about typical “drop-off tears” —you are trusting others with your child’s unique ways.

Take a deep breath…

🌈Here is what you DO NOT need to worry about this September:

🧩Immediate adaptation: Progress is never linear. Expect development to “pause a little” before you see growth and progress.

🧩Flawless communication: Staff will learn your child’s cues, you’ve no doubt prepared them well, sharing all the relevant information with them beforehand.
You can also ask your child’s SEND Practitioner and health professionals to model strategies to train/support staff where needed.

🧩Rigid schedules: Inclusive nurseries will and should adapt to your child’s specific sensory and medical needs.

🧩Peer comparisons: Forget “standard age” checklists. Focus solely on your child’s individual timeline and goals.

🧩Sensory meltdowns: if they hsppen educators will no doubt have seen this before. Give yourself and your little one a break, it’s all so new!
You’ll get there… deep breaths (easier said than done at times, I know🫶🏻).

🧩Staff judgment: True professional educators will be your team, not your critics.

🌈You are doing an incredible job. Your child is going to build an amazing new network of support on their next adventure into nursery/school. Enjoy the journey. 🤍

💛 WE’RE GIVING OUR SEND SESSION ONE LAST TRY! 💛

Firstly, a huge THANK YOU to everyone who shared, tagged friends and helped us try to get the word out about our SEND Sensory Session today. 🥹💛 Unfortunately, despite all of that support, we only had two customers attend today, which sadly isn’t enough for us to sustainably keep the session on our timetable.

HOWEVER… since then, we’ve had a few more families get in touch asking about SEND sessions, so we really want to give it one last try! 🤞🌈

📅 NEXT TUESDAY
⏰ 11:45am
🌈 SEND SENSORY SESSION
✨ Quieter environment
✨ Reduced numbers
✨ A relaxed, understanding space for children to explore at their own pace

We genuinely want to keep these sessions on our timetable, but as a small business, we do need enough families attending for us to be able to continue running them. 💛

So if this is something your child would benefit from, we would absolutely LOVE for you to join us — especially if you’ve never visited before. We’d love to meet you! 🥰

And if you can’t attend, you can still make a HUGE difference…

Let’s see if we can make next Tuesday the one that shows us these sessions can stay. 🤞💛🌈
