Our Story

Guilt Free Gourmet (R) is a unique, delicious variety of high protein, low fat, free range chicken & sun-dried tomato pâtés. Offal, gluten, additive & preservative free and some dairy free. We have an interesting, unique story that we’d like to share with you.

Some years ago our daughter Anna was a budding top ten nationally ranked tennis player, which commanded a healthy high protein diet. Anna loved all the things that she should avoid eating including pâté, which I’d rarely purchase because of its high fat content and concerns over the provenance of the meat/offal and the various other additives and preservatives. My step Mum had sadly passed away having had a terrible battle with cancer, the experience was very challenging emotionally, her diet had been poor, so I made a decision to provide my family with a healthy one, including plenty of home cooked food, fresh veg and fruit, avoiding heavily processed products. I was very determined to turn a very sad life experience into something positive. I’m quite an inventive cook so when Anna asked me to create a healthy pâté I rose to the challenge eagerly and experimented with various ingredients using a chicken and sun-dried tomato base, at the time we were in the depths of moving the premises of our sports shop, so I became distracted with that and the project was almost forgotten about. It wasn’t till several years later when our son James requested ‘some more of your yummy pâté please Mum’ did I realize its potential, and rediscovered an interest in my idea as a business. After several months of market research and deliberation on a brand name ‘Guilt Free Gourmet’ was born and I began beavering away in the kitchen on my project again.

Over the past two years I’ve very much enjoyed developing an exciting range of flavours of our healthy pâtés, including tikka, chilli and Italian herb. I’d like people to realize that healthy eating can be fun, enjoyable and delicious. I also have a passion to make people happy with my food, why don’t you try some? I promise you won’t be disappointed....

Lastly as a very proud parent I’d like to tell you about our icing on the cake. As well as enjoying the privilege of playing tennis for her home county of Sussex, Anna won a scholarship to play for the University of Massachusetts and graduated in 2017, the same year she was honoured to be captain of the Umass ladies team too. James is excelling in his golf and is hoping to win a scholarship also, our dream has always been to give our children the best start in life so they can enjoy it to the full. I’m a strong believer in ‘you are what you eat’ and would love to inspire others to make that extra effort, to go that extra mile.
