As summer comes to an end, we’re looking back at some of our August highlights across Gold Care Homes ☀️💜

With plenty of summer sunshine, our homes found ways to enjoy the summer while keeping cool, with ice creams and ice cream van visits proving particularly popular! 🍦

We also put the kettle on for Afternoon Tea Week, enjoyed some well-earned downtime for National Relaxation Day and made the most of the Summer Bank Holiday.

We had a fantastic Summer Party at Bletchley House Care Home ! ☀️🎶

Our wonderful residents were joined by relatives, staff and members of our local community for an afternoon of live music, a BBQ, refreshments and plenty of time together. The live music was a particular favourite, with Ron saying, “It is great to see many people” 💜

It was lovely to see so many people come together and enjoy the day with our residents. A huge thank you to everyone who helped make it such a special occasion! 🌟

A few of our residents headed out for a proper day trip this week, hopping on the bus and making their way over to Bletchley 💜

After a bit of exploring, it was time to refuel with a classic burger and chips, which definitely went down well. There was plenty of chat around the table and a few happy comments about how good it all tasted 😊

To round off the day, they spent some time at the sensory park, taking in the different sights and sounds at their own pace. It was a lovely mix of getting out and about, enjoying good food, and just having a change of scene together.

July saw us celebrating a few of our favourite dates in the calendar, alongside all the everyday moments that make each month special 💜

We marked World Chocolate Day with a few well deserved treats, celebrated National Ice Cream Day with everyone's favourite flavours, and during , we took the opportunity to recognise our wonderful teams who make such a difference every day 🍦🍫

Alongside the celebrations, there were all the little moments that make each month what it is, catching up with friends, enjoying favourite activities and making the most of the summer days.

Mary and Terry enjoyed a lovely little outing to Dobbies garden centre this week, and it was just as nice as it sounds 💜

They settled in with a cup of tea and a slice of cake, taking their time to chat and watch the world go by. Sometimes it’s the simple trips out like this that mean the most, a change of scenery and a good natter in good company 😊

It was a gentle, relaxed afternoon and both of them came back with smiles and stories to share

June brought plenty of reasons to celebrate across our homes, with lots of special moments shared together along the way 💜

We marked Care Home Open Week by welcoming visitors into our homes, celebrated Pride Month with colourful activities and conversations, and enjoyed making Father's Day a memorable one for the wonderful father figures in our community 🌈

There was also time for some light hearted fun as we tucked into National Fish and Chips Day, got creative for National Cheese Day, and found lots of other reasons to smile throughout the month 🧀🐟

Recently, Ronald enjoyed a wonderful day out recently with a visit to Woburn Safari Park 🦁💜

From spotting rhinos and bears to watching the cheeky monkeys at play, there was plenty to see as he explored the park. The drive-through safari was a real highlight, giving Ronald the chance to get up close to some incredible animals.

It was a lovely afternoon spent out in the Bedfordshire countryside, with lots of interesting sights and memories made along the way 🦒😊

There was plenty of singing along at Bletchley House Care Home this week as we welcomed a fantastic folk band to entertain our wonderful residents 🎶💜

Song sheets at the ready, everyone joined in with some well loved favourites, and before long there was plenty of toe tapping around the room. One of our lovely residents even couldn't resist getting up for a dance, much to everyone's delight 😊

A big thank you to the musicians for such a wonderful afternoon. It's always special to see music bringing people together and creating such happy moments 🎵
