Just a reminder that we are Dementia Friends!
This means we can now offer more in-depth dementia support for people who are deaf, hard of hearing and have visual impairments!
It's very important to invest in training for your staff and increasing awareness surrounding diseases like dementia.
Thank you Alzheimer's Society for the training, it has been invaluable!

Alzheimerβs Society Staff member, Annlouise, recently delivered a Dementia Friends Session for Milton Keynes Sensory Services, a charity that supports children and adults living with a sensory loss.
βIn my role as Local Community and Volunteering Officer I deliver lots of talks and Dementia Friends Sessions, but this was a first for me. My session was delivered alongside a translator who provided British Sign Language (BSL) interpretation to improve its accessibility for Milton Keynes Sensory Services.
βWe discussed the benefits of early diagnosis, how healthy lifestyle choices can reduce the risk of developing dementia and how to access support.
βThey commented that they found the session really interesting and now feel more confident in supporting their service uses affected by dementia.β
Milton Keynes Sensory Services said: βThank you so much for such an interesting session - we really learnt a lot. We learnt how to recognise the symptoms of dementia, and how to offer support.
βMilton Keynes Sensory Services are officially Dementia Friends!β
