Why I Started Comfort Scan ❤️

Sometimes a small idea begins with simply wanting to help

I’m a doctor originally from Pakistan and have worked in ultrasound for around 27 years, including experience in Saudi Arabia and the UK.

During my NHS work, I saw how difficult it could sometimes be for patients to access ultrasound. Some people waited a long time for appointments, while others missed appointments because they had not received, seen or understood their appointment information.

There were occasions when I personally contacted patients who had not arrived for their scan, sometimes arranging for them to come later that day. It was difficult knowing that someone might be worried about their health and simply be unable to access the investigation they needed.

Those experiences stayed with me.

That is one of the reasons I created Comfort Scan — a home-based ultrasound service designed to make scanning more accessible, convenient and affordable for the community.

We provide both urgent and routine ultrasound appointments, with formal reports sent promptly. If something on a scan appears to need urgent medical attention, we explain this to the patient and advise them on the appropriate next step, including contacting NHS 111 or emergency services when necessary.

We are not here to replace the NHS. We are simply another option for people who may need flexibility, convenience or a little extra support.
