We just received another beautiful
“Thank You” card from The Archie Foundation Tayside.
They wanted to thank us for displaying collection cans in both our Pharmacies and they wanted to thank you, our customers for donating!
The The Archie Foundation is a Scottish charity that supports children and families affected by illness, bereavement, and healthcare experiences.
They provide financial support, create child-friendly environments in our local hospitals, and offer services like play and bereavement support.
💚Financial Support:
The foundation offers grants to help cover travel costs, accommodation, and essential items for families facing unexpected or urgent hospital admissions, including ongoing treatment.
💛Child-Friendly Environments:
They fund projects to create more comfortable and appropriate spaces for children in hospitals, like the Highland Children's Unit and the Tayside Children's Hospital.
💔Bereavement Support:
They provide tailored bereavement support for children and families, including access to resources, information, and guidance.
🩵Supporting NHS Services:
The Archie Foundation also supports play and alternative healthcare professional teams, as well as maternity and neonatal services.
TO ACHIEVE THIS THEY HAVE TO DO THIS:
👉Fundraising:
They rely on donations from individuals, companies, and schools to fund their projects and services.
👉Collaboration:
They work closely with NHS partners and Clinical Advisory Committees to ensure their projects align with local priorities and needs.
👉Volunteering:
They welcome volunteers to assist with various tasks, including fundraising events, collection can placements, and supporting families.
Impact:
🌈The Archie Foundation has a significant impact on the lives of children and families in the north and north-east of Scotland, helping them access better healthcare and bereavement support. They strive to ensure all children have equal access to high-quality care in a child-appropriate environment.
📣We would again just like to take this opportunity to give recognition to a fabulous Volunteer here in Monifieth who is an amazing ambassador for this wonderful charity.
She is called Edith Christie and is a pillar of the community and offers and volunteers to support many other local ventures and associations too!
