Do you ever notice how difficult it can be to fully switch off, even when life externally feels quieter?

For many people, the system continues as if it is still in motion. Thoughts stay active, the body remains slightly alert, and there is a lingering sense of being “on” even when there is no immediate demand.

Shiatsu offers a different rhythm to that state.

Rather than asking the body to suddenly relax, it allows things to settle gradually, through steady, attentive contact that does not rush or impose a change. In that slower unfolding, the nervous system can begin to find a different reference point.

I offer Shiatsu sessions for people who are looking for a quieter way to come back into themselves.

You’re very welcome to explore this if it feels supportive.

We live in a culture that often makes people feel they need qualifications, certainty or expertise before offering care.

But many participants in my recent Grassroots Shiatsu workshop reflected on something much simpler: that supportive touch can begin quietly — through presence, attention, gentleness and intention.

Again and again people spoke about feeling safe enough to soften. Not because anyone was “doing it perfectly,” because there was permission to slow down and listen. This is one of the things I value so deeply about Shiatsu. It reminds us that healing does not always arrive through force or fixing.

Sometimes it begins with feeling supported, connected and met.

Spent today immersed in a new somatic bodywork training with the wonderful in her marvellous practice space.

This is a quiet, thoughtful, body-led work that feels very aligned with the deeper direction my Shiatsu practice continues to take.

I can’t wait for this to land fully and become something I can offer to others.

Lots to absorb and some guinea pigs needed this week. DM if that’s you 🐹🐹🐹🐹

It is easy to overlook small changes.

A softer jaw, a deeper breath, or a subtle feeling of being more present in yourself. These shifts can seem insignificant, especially when we are used to expecting something more obvious.

But often, these are the moments that matter.

When they are noticed, they begin to build. The body starts to recognise a different state, and gradually becomes more familiar with it.

Shiatsu creates space for that noticing.

By slowing things down and bringing attention to what is already happening, it allows these small shifts to be recognised and supported.

Over time, that can lead to something more lasting.

I offer Shiatsu as a gentle support for this kind of awareness and change.

Feeling unsettled, anxious, or a bit off in your system? Heart Protector 6 is a key point for regulating the nervous system. I use this often when there’s anxiety, nausea, or a sense of internal imbalance.

📍 Located on the inner forearm, about three finger-widths from the wrist crease.
💆 Apply steady pressure while breathing slowly and deeply.

This point helps restore a sense of balance — both physically and emotionally.

Being supported physically can have a quiet impact on the whole system.

Through steady, attentive touch, Shiatsu offers a kind of contact that many people do not often experience. It is not intrusive or demanding, and it does not ask anything of you.

It is simply present.

And sometimes, that is enough.

When the body experiences this kind of support, it can begin to reorganise itself. Tension may ease, breath may deepen, and a sense of space can begin to return.

Not because anything has been forced, but because something has been allowed.

I offer Shiatsu as a way of supporting the body through this kind of gentle, responsive contact.

If this resonates, you’re very welcome to connect.

The body isn’t made up of separate areas. It’s a continuous network of connective tissue (known as fascia) that links everything together. This is why, in Shiatsu, we don’t just work where something hurts. We listen to the whole system.

I offer Shiatsu for people who are holding a lot, whether that is physical, emotional, or a combination of both.

It is not always visible from the outside. Often, things can appear steady or manageable, while internally there is a sense of carrying more than feels comfortable.

That experience does not always need to be explained.

Shiatsu offers a space where it can simply be acknowledged. Where you can arrive without needing to put it into words, and be met as you are.

From there, something can begin to soften.

I offer Shiatsu as a space to feel more settled within yourself, and to be supported in a way that does not require explanation.

You’re very welcome here if this feels familiar.
