In the early hours of tomorrow morning, the New Moon arrives in the sign of Virgo.

Early September has always felt very Virgoan to me.

The summer is over. The routines return. The days are beginning to shorten.

The party, in many ways, feels like it is coming to a close.

Which makes me think of Cinderella after the ball.

The music has stopped.

The beautiful dress has disappeared.

And Cinderella is back at the hearth, facing ordinary life.

And yet it is from the ashes that something begins.

Even when we don't yet know what that is

Because Caroline, every New Moon begins in darkness.

The Moon is connected to your instincts,

Your intuition

The part of you that can sense something before you can quite understand what it means

And beginnings in life can so often feel like this too.

Nothing obvious on the outside has changed.

You may still be doing the same work, having the same conversations, living the same life.

But something feels different.

Something that used to work no longer does.

Virgo has a way of noticing what is actually there once the glamour has fallen away.

What still fits.

What doesn't.

And what is asking for change

So often we want the whole map before we move forward.

To know what comes next

But at a New Moon much of the map is still in darkness.

So rather than create a long list of intentions for this New Moon

There may be one question worth sitting with:

What is no longer working as it once did?

THIS WORKSHOP IS FULLY BOOKED.

September has a way of bringing plans back into focus.

The summer ends.

The year suddenly feels as though it is moving again.

And with it comes that familiar feeling that you need to get organised.

Make some decisions. Set some goals. Work out what comes next.

But before you decide what comes next, perhaps the real question is:

Whose plan are you following?

The one you actually want?

Or the one you absorbed somewhere along the way - from family, school, work, relationships, expectation, comparison or simply the idea of where you thought you would be by now?

This is what we’ll be exploring in my next workshop.

Because very often the plan we make is a perfectly good one.

It is sensible. It uses what we are good at and builds on what has worked before.

But there can still be that feeling that, despite everything looking right on paper, something no longer quite fits.

In astrology, this is where the Nodal Axis becomes so useful.
The South Node describes the territory that is already deeply familiar to you.

The qualities you fall back on without thinking.

The roles you know how to play.

Which is why it can be so easy to keep building your life from there.

You know how to do it.

But there comes a point when becoming even better at what you already know may not be the same as moving forward.

Directly opposite the South Node sits the North Node.

The North Node points towards the part of life that is less familiar.
It is often where the deeper direction of the chart lies - not necessarily the easiest path, but the one that can feel increasingly meaningful as you move towards it.

Often it is the area of life where other people seem to find something much easier than you do.

And this will look completely different for each of us.

In the early hours of tomorrow morning we have a Lunar Eclipse in Pisces.

The final eclipse in a story that has been unfolding for almost two years

Eclipses disrupt the normal order.

For a moment, something we expect to see is obscured.

And perhaps that is why eclipses have long been associated with turning points.

When the familiar order is interrupted, we can sometimes see our lives differently.

Nineteen years ago there was another Lunar Eclipse at almost exactly the same point in Pisces.

Which means that an area of our lives highlighted then is being brought back into focus now
Not because history is repeating itself.

We are nineteen years older.

Our lives have changed.

We have changed.

But there may be an echo between then and now.

Think back to 2007.

What was happening in your life?

What was changing?

What were you longing for?

And what, perhaps, was already beginning to lose its hold?

You don't need to remember the details.

Sometimes it is the feeling of a time that tells us more.

This eclipse falls in Pisces - the final sign of the zodiac.

Pisces has a way of dissolving what once seemed certain.

The roles we have played.

The dreams we once had.

The ideas we held about how life was supposed to be.

And this doesn't always happen dramatically.

Sometimes something simply stops fitting in the way it once did.

We become less invested.

And this can be particularly uncomfortable now because the Sun is in Virgo.

Virgo wants to put things in order.

September is approaching.

Back to school.

Back to work.

Back to routines.

There is a natural desire to get life organised again.

But what if life isn't asking to be put back exactly as it was?

This is the tension at the heart of this eclipse.

Virgo looks at what is in front of us and asks:

What needs fixing?

Pisces asks:

What if this cannot be fixed?

Earlier this month, the Solar Eclipse was connected to the South Node.

The past.

This Lunar Eclipse falls close to the North Node.

The future.

So it may well feel that something has been coming to an end over these past two years

But Pisces doesn't necessarily give us something new to replace what is dissolving.

And that can feel difficult.

But perhaps the invitation is not to fill that space just yet -

That if you can - allow space for something different to emerge.

So as we reach this year's final eclipse, take a moment to look back to 2007.

And consider - what part of your life is asking to be lived differently now?

Perhaps returning to the same place nineteen years later isn't an invitation to repeat the past.

But an opportunity to meet it differently this time around.

The Sun has now moved into Virgo.

And there is often something about this time of year that brings us back to reality.

The summer isn't quite over.

But something is beginning to shift.

Our attention starts to move away from the expansiveness of the last few months and towards the life that is waiting for us.

The work.

The commitments.

The things that need our attention.

Virgo has an extraordinary ability to see what others might miss.

The detail.

The flaw.

The thing that isn't quite working.

And this can be both a gift and a burden.

Because once we see something, it becomes much harder to pretend that we don't.

A relationship that no longer feels the same.

A way of working that is exhausting us.

A responsibility we have carried for so long that we have stopped questioning whether it is actually ours.

But perhaps the missing piece with Virgo is why she notices the flaw in the first place.

Virgo is the perfectionist.

She sees what could be better.

What could be improved.

The detail that someone else might simply overlook.

And as an earth sign, she wants to do something about it.

To make it work.

To make it useful.

To make it better.

But there is a danger in seeing so much.

We can become so focused on what isn't right that we lose sight of what is.

So caught in the detail that we can no longer see the whole.

And perhaps this is where Virgo's real work begins.

Discernment.

Not everything we notice needs fixing.

Not every flaw is a problem.

The question becomes: what actually matters?

What needs tending?

What needs changing?

And what can simply be left alone?

Perhaps this is why Virgo season can be such an important month.

Because it asks us to look honestly at the life we are actually living.

Where is your energy going?

What is asking for your attention?

And what truly matters?

We are in the middle of eclipse season.

And there is something about eclipse season that can feel unsettling.

The familiar doesn't feel quite as familiar.

Things that felt certain become less certain.

There can be a sense that something is changing before we have the words to describe what that change actually is.

And that can feel overwhelming.

On August 28th, we have a lunar eclipse in Pisces.

The final eclipse in a story that began in September 2024.

And this is a North Node eclipse.

The North Node takes us towards the future.

Towards something we haven't experienced yet.

And that's the thing about the future.

We have no history with it.

No evidence that it will work out.

No way of knowing exactly who we will be when we get there.

The past may not have been comfortable.

But we knew the terrain

The future doesn't offer us that same certainty.

Which sounds exciting.

Until you're actually living it.

Because when life begins to move beyond what we know, the questions often follow.

Where is this going?

What happens next?

And sometimes there simply isn't an answer yet.

Pisces knows all about this territory.

Not everything can be understood before we experience it.

Not every decision comes with certainty.

Sometimes we only discover where life is taking us by allowing ourselves to enter the next chapter.

This eclipse belongs to a story that began nearly two years ago.

The New Moon arrives today.

But this is no ordinary New Moon.

Because today, the Moon passes directly between the Earth and the Sun, creating a Total Solar Eclipse.

For thousands of years, eclipses were feared.

They were seen as harbingers of famine, war and the fall of kings.

The Sun disappeared.

Day became night.

The natural order itself seemed to fracture

Today we understand the astronomy

But I don't think we have entirely lost our instinctive understanding that eclipses matter.

Astrologically, they mark great endings and beginnings.

They arrive at moments when something can no longer continue as it has.

Sometimes we have known this for a long time.

Sometimes it takes us completely by surprise.

But either way, something that was already in motion begins to move more quickly.

This eclipse falls in Leo.

Ruled by the Sun, Leo speaks to your developing sense of self.

Who you are.

And who you are becoming.

I often think Leo comes back to one very simple question:

Is it safe to be me?

To live from the heart.

To trust what I feel.

To follow what I want.

And to be seen for who I really am.

Many of us learn very early which parts of ourselves are welcomed and which are not.

What brings approval.

What brings love.

And so we adapt.

We learn who we need to be.

Until there comes a point when that version of ourselves no longer quite fits.

And this is where tonight's eclipse becomes particularly important.

It occurs close to the South Node - the part of the chart that speaks to your past.

What you already know.

The patterns you return to.

The ways of being that have become almost instinctive.

But familiar doesn't necessarily mean right.

And perhaps that is what this eclipse asks you to recognise.

Where have you been hiding?

Where have you been making yourself smaller?

Where have you been eclipsing parts of who you really are?

Not because you don't know yourself.

But because somewhere along the way, you learned that being yourself came with consequences.

If you have your birth chart to hand, find 20° Leo.

The house it falls in shows where in your life this story is unfolding.

Where something has reached a point of no return.

Where what once worked no longer does.

And where change has already begun.

If you have planets or angles between 15–25° of Leo, Aquarius, Ta**us or Scorpio, this eclipse may feel particularly personal.

The last Solar Eclipse close to this degree occurred on 11 August 2018, at 18° Leo.

Think back to that Summer.

Not necessarily to what happened on that particular day, but to the chapter of your life you were living.

What mattered to you eight years ago?

What were you trying to hold onto?

And what can you see now that you couldn't see then?

Eclipses don't necessarily bring the same events back around.

But they can bring us back to the same story from a very different place.

And finally don't forget that eclipses accelerate what is already changing.

You don't need to know exactly what comes next.

Perhaps it is enough to recognise what you can no longer return to.

Because something new has already begun.

In the late hours of this evening - just before midnight - the Full Moon reaches its peak.

You may already be feeling it.

A little more emotional.

A little less patient.

Perhaps you're just more aware of just how much you've been carrying.

Full Moons have a way of bringing things into the light.

They illuminate what has been building beneath the surface.

This month's Full Moon falls in Capricorn.

The sign that understands responsibility.

Duty.

Perseverance.

The part of us that keeps going because someone has to.

Capricorn rarely complains.

It simply puts one foot in front of the other.

Again.

And again.

And again.

It understands that some things cannot be rushed.

That the strongest foundations are built slowly.

Which is why this Full Moon may bring an unexpected awareness of just how much you've been holding.

Not simply physically.

Emotionally.

Mentally.

Spiritually.

There is a difference between being tired because you've worked hard.

And being tired because you've carried too much for too long.

One leaves you with a sense of purpose.

The other slowly disconnects you from yourself.

Capricorn asks you to notice which kind of tiredness you're carrying.

This Full Moon is ruled by Saturn.

The planet of time.

Commitment.

Reality.

Saturn has little interest in shortcuts.

It teaches us that the things with the deepest roots often take the longest to grow.

It reminds us that a meaningful life is built one decision at a time.

Astrology works in cycles.

Every Full Moon completes a story that began six months earlier.

Cast your mind back to January.

What was beginning then?

What commitment did you make?

What responsibility did you accept?

What started growing?

The answers may not be obvious at first.

Life has a wonderful way of revealing that today's harvest often began as yesterday's smallest decision.

You may discover that what is reaching its culmination now first appeared as a tiny seed at the beginning of the year.

Capricorn reminds us that life isn't built in dramatic moments.

It's built in ordinary days.

The promises we keep.

The choices we make when nobody else is watching.

This Full Moon invites you to pause.

To look back at how far you've already climbed.

And then, before taking another step -

To make sure you're still climbing the mountain that belongs to you.

Whatever this Full Moon reveals, try not to rush past it.

Sit with it for a while.

Some insights arrive all at once.

Others need a little time before they show us what they're really asking of us.

Tomorrow is the longest day of the year.

The Summer Solstice.

For thousands of years, people have treated this day differently.

Not because they understood astronomy in the way we do today

But because they understood something equally important.

That life moves in cycles.

That there are moments to begin.

Moments to wait.

And moments to take stock.

The Solstice marks one of those moments.

The Sun reaches its highest point in the sky.

The fields are growing.

The hedgerows are full.

The days have stretched almost as far as they can.

For a brief moment, everything pauses.

Not literally, of course.

The Earth keeps turning.

Life keeps moving.

Yet there is something about the Solstice that invites reflection.

Perhaps because it arrives halfway through the year.

Six months behind us.

Six months ahead.

A natural place to stop and ask a few questions.

If the Spring Equinox was when you planted your seeds, what has taken root?

What has flourished?

What has fallen away?

Sometimes we discover that the things we wanted are no longer what we want now.

The person who made those plans no longer exists in quite the same way.

Life has happened.

Experience has changed us.

In some ways, the Solstice is less about the Sun and more about you.

Where you have been.

Where you are now.

And what the light is beginning to reveal.

Our ancestors understood this instinctively.

Across Britain and Europe, fires were lit on hilltops.

At dawn, dew was gathered from the grass and used in healing rituals.

So take a moment to notice the life that you have created.

Recognise what has come to fruition.

Acknowledge what no longer belongs.

As we reach the longest day, perhaps the question is not what you intend to do next.

Perhaps it is simpler than that.

In the early hours of tomorrow morning, the New Moon arrives in Gemini.

Every New Moon marks the beginning of a new cycle.

This one begins in the sign of curiosity, conversation and the mind.

The way you think.
The questions you ask.
The stories you tell yourself about your life.

We can often imagine that change begins with a decision.

Yet before life changes on the outside, it often changes in the mind first.

A new thought appears.

A different perspective emerges.

A question arrives that refuses to leave.

Gemini is interested.

It understands that there is more than one way to see almost everything.

More than one story.
More than one possibility.
More than one path forward.

That's why this New Moon isn't asking you to have all the answers.

It's asking you to become interested in the questions.
