So many capable women are the ones everyone relies on. They keep working, keep supporting everyone else and keep saying, “I’m fine, I can cope.”

But being able to keep going doesn’t always mean everything is OK.

Sometimes the signs are already there: feeling exhausted but unable to switch off, poor sleep, overwhelm, shorter patience, loss of confidence, or finding that things you once took in your stride suddenly feel harder.

So perhaps the question isn’t:
“Am I coping?”

Perhaps it’s:
“What is coping costing me?”

Being strong doesn’t mean waiting until you feel you’re about to fall over before doing something differently.

This is exactly why Lisa and I created The Calming Reset Retreat, a retreat designed to help busy women step away from the constant demands. To understand what’s happening in their mind and body, then leave with practical tools they can continue using when they return to everyday life.

💬 Does this resonate with you? Do you think we’ve started accepting as “normal”, simply because we’re still managing to cope?

And if you’re already thinking, “I can’t keep doing things in the same way,” you don’t have to wait. You can find out more about The Calming Reset Retreat and book your place here: https://lisaandpaulaswpw.as.me/Retreat

Honest conversations about why women fall over and how hiding issues can make it more difficult.
Do you recognise the signs in others who might be hiding they’re struggling? What are the signs?

17/07/2026

Every week, Lisa and I hear the same conversations.

Sometimes in clinic.

Sometimes during coaching.

Sometimes in cafés, supermarkets or standing in queues.

Women laughing as they say they're "fine"...
..while quietly admitting they're exhausted.

The words are different.

The message is almost always the same.

💛 "I'm just tired."

💛 "I'll rest when things calm down."

💛 "It's probably just menopause."

💛 "I'll ask for help if things get worse."

The women who worry us most aren't the ones asking for help.

I worry most, about the women who keep carrying on.

Who keep putting themselves last.

Who keep believing they'll get round to looking after themselves one day.

That's why we created The Calming Reset Retreat.

Not because women need another spa day.

But because we believe they deserve support before they feel like they're about to fall over.

👇 Which conversation did you recognise first?

I hear women saying again and again: “I’ll rest when things calm down.” But what if they never do?

Meanwhile you feel the impact: you’re exhausted, unable to switch off, not sleeping properly. Things feel overwhelming.

The more we postpone our own care, the more it becomes a quiet rule: “My needs can wait”. How long will you accept that? Until total exhaustion? Until you collapse or burn out?

How would it help you to learn to spot the warning signs earlier and to respond differently, even while life is busy.

That’s why Lisa and I created The Calming Reset Retreat. It’s a space to understand what’s going on, to explore the assumptions that keep you stuck, and to practice simple, practical tools you can use in busy, everyday life.

So if you’ve said, “I’ll rest when things calm down,” ask yourself, what am I actually waiting for?

If part of you is thinking, “I can’t keep doing this the same way,” perhaps there’s no need to wait.

Question- What’s one situation that didn’t go to plan, but showed you that you’re more capable than you realised? 🤔

This week, I was delivering a workshop on self-belief. I’d spent hours preparing the presentation. I’d learned new skills, created new resources, embedded a video into my slides and tested everything beforehand. I was feeling quite chuffed at my new IT skills! 😊

Then, just as I was about to show the video…It didn’t work. No WiFi connection. A room full of people waiting…! 😬

For a split second, I had a choice.

I could focus on what had gone wrong, become flustered and let it knock my confidence. Or I could adapt.

So, instead of the video, I shared a powerful quote. I connected to my phone hotspot, got everything working again and continued with the workshop. 🙌

The audience saw a technical issue.
But what I saw was a real-life example of the very thing I was teaching. Joking with saying it was part of the presentation!!!

Self-belief doesn’t come from everything going perfectly. It comes from trusting yourself to handle things when they don’t.

So often, people think confidence comes first. But in reality, confidence is often built afterwards.

It’s built through experiences where things don’t quite go to plan, yet you find a way through anyway, and what you learn from it. 📝

Over the last two weeks I’ve spoken at three events, met some incredible people, learned new technology, made mistakes, solved problems and stretched myself outside my comfort zone.

And every one of those experiences has strengthened my belief that growth isn’t about perfection. It’s about learning and progress. ✨
