Brutal Headwind but Brilliant Support | Clive Cookson 10K 2026 🏃‍♀️💚 | North Shields Poly

The Clive Cookson 10K organised by North Shields Poly certainly made us work for it! 🥵🏃‍♀️

A challenging (or as others describe it fast and flat) two-loop course with roughly a mile-long uphill drag straight from the start before things finally eased off. Thankfully the supportive marshals around the course kept spirits high from start to finish 👏

Great atmosphere, a brilliant race t-shirt, and lovely to see so manyTeam Green from Blyth Running Club out in force 💚

Another cracking local race with plenty of encouragement and familiar faces along the way.

Parkrun Chaos Returns! 🎥🏃‍♀️ Four Weeks Off… Then I Forgot To Film Half Of It! | Gateshead parkrun
After four long weeks unable to run, I was SO excited to finally get back to parkrun at for the Sun City Triathlon parkrun championship… but let’s just say the filming didn’t quite go to plan 😅
✔️ Filmed the sky for reasons unknown✔️ Camera battery died✔️ Thought I was recording when I absolutely wasn’t✔️ Missed my hubby’s finish completely 🙈✔️ Somehow changed the screen ratio mid-video✔️ Forgot to film an outro
Basically… a YouTube masterclass in what NOT to do 🎬😂
But despite the chaos, it felt amazing to be back running, back seeing familiar faces, and back soaking up the brilliant parkrun atmosphere. Sometimes the imperfect days are the most memorable ones.
If you enjoy running vlogs, parkrun adventures, race day mishaps and keeping it real, you’re in the right place 💜

Les Allcorn 10K 🏃‍♀️🌳 | Hills, Posset & a Wardrobe Malfunction 😅

The annual Les Allcorn 10K organised by Alnwick Harriers through the beautiful Hulne Park 🌳
A tough one from the start with plenty of hills before settling into an undulating riverside course… the kind that makes you question your life choices but somehow still enjoy it 😅
Not entirely sure how many times I’ve run this race now — at least 4! Although the last two years have had a different start point, just to keep us on our toes.
Training plan said: “Easy 60 minutes.”
Official finish time: 60:03 😂 Close enough.
Unfortunately suffered a rather nasty leg injury thanks to a wardrobe malfunction mid-run… a week later and it’s STILL healing 🩹
A brilliant night out with the Blyth Running Club ladies though — great company, great race, and chocolate bars all round at the finish 🍫

The Footage Finally Dropped! 🎥🏃 Newcastle to Gateshead Half Marathon.

A slightly delayed upload from the Newcastle to Gateshead Half Marathon… but here it finally is 😅🏃‍♀️

This race, organised by RunThrough, started and finished at Gateshead International Stadium, taking runners on a fast route through Newcastle and Gateshead in some very wet conditions ☔️

It was also race number 5 of 12 in the Blyth Running Club Grand Prix 2026… and Division 5 is definitely starting to hot up 👀

Despite the rain this turned out to be my fastest half marathon of 2026 so far 🎉

Expect sweaty miles, race-day rambling, and the usual “why do I do this to myself?” moments.

Questions I asked myself whilst running… 🏃🏽‍♀️ 💭
Is this way harder, or am I just dramatically underprepared? 😅
Is it better training in one direction, or am I just choosing the one that hurts less? 🤔
If it is harder this way… do I casually tell Evan, or save it for retelling later? 🦸‍♂️
Do I have to run this way for maximum gains, or is that something I just made up mid-struggle? 🫠
And most importantly…
who designed this route and why do they hate me? 😤

Where It All Began
Ashington. A sprint triathlon.
Nothing remarkable — or so it seemed.
A pool swim, steady breaststroke,
counting lengths, chasing breath.
A bike that had seen better days,
helmet skew-whiff,
legs turning more on hope than strength.
And then the run —
no urgency, no pressure —
just the quiet, unexpected joy of moving forward,
like I’d found something I didn’t know I’d lost.
I didn’t know it then…
but that was the moment.
The spark.
Because from there,
it didn’t stay small.
It didn’t stay simple.
I was hooked —
and it quickly became something much bigger.!

Seven days. Two legs. More questionable life choices.

Welcome to a week in my training life—where the runs are long, the rides are longer, and every route seems to have been personally designed by someone who really hates knees. If it’s flat, I don’t trust it. If it climbs, I’m apparently doing it twice.
This week features scenic views I’m too out of breath to enjoy, motivational self-talk that quickly turns into negotiations, and more hills than any reasonable human signed up for.

Running, cycling, and a generous amount of “why am I like this?”—all packed into one slightly unhinged training block.
So lace up, clip in, and prepare for a tour of sweat, suffering, and suspiciously steep gradients. Let’s get into
