We're overwhelmed with gratitude to everybody who took the time to visit our stall and attend our presentation at the Participation day in the Bellshill and Mossend YMCA!
It was absolutely fantastic to see so many new faces, eager to learn more about what we do, as well as familiar faces who have supported us along the way. We're thrilled to have had the opportunity to share our vision with all of you and hope you had as much fun as we did. Thank you again for your continued support.

Muirhouse and Flemington Community is working to build a stronger, more connected community. They want to give local people more opportunities to come together, meet others, and take part in activities that make a difference. With public events already happening throughout the year, they’re aiming to expand even further — offering more chances to get involved and encouraging local organisations to work together.

Muirhouse and Flemington Community are inviting everyone to their next event: the Halloween Festival on Saturday 17 October. It’s a chance to come along, join in, and be part of a growing community effort in Motherwell.

Deaf Services Lanarkshire are hosting a community engagement event on Monday the 19th of October from 4pm to 7pm.
It is being held at Shawhead Community Centre in Coatbridge, everyone is welcome and we encourage anyone interested to go along.

Thank you to everyone that came along to our Macmillan Cancer Support Scotland coffee morning, we managed to raise £169.87. It was a fun day for everyone in the office and we had a great time catching up with everyone.

Bellshill & Mossend YMCA's Y-Connect is a free 12-week sensory programme for parents, carers and children with additional support needs – whether diagnosed or undiagnosed. Each week explores a different sensory theme to help support early development, encourage communication, and strengthen bonds through fun and play.

The sessions currently take place every Wednesday:
Under 5s: 10:00am–11:00am
Mixed Under 8s: 3:30pm–4:30pm
Mixed Under 7s: 5:30pm–6:30pm
A parent or carer is required to attend the session with their child/children.

The sensory room provides a welcoming, inclusive and supportive environment where children can explore sensory play, interact with others and experience the space at their own pace. Attending a new group or unfamiliar environment can feel daunting for both children and their parents/carers. There is no pressure to participate in any particular way, and families are encouraged to take their time and become comfortable within the environment.

We are hosting an office bake off in support of MacMillan on the 24th of September from 10:30 AM - 2:30 PM.
All money raised goes directly to MacMillan Cancer Support so come along for some questionable baking for a good cause.
Along with bakes there will be a raffle where you could win something fun all while supporting MacMillan.
Everyone is welcome so bring yourself along for a sweet afternoon full of fun!

Inclusion Scotland wants your opinion to shape their manifesto for the 2027 council elections.

Local councils play a crucial role in delivering services that disabled people depend on, such as housing, transport, education, social care, public spaces and leisure services. With Scottish local council elections approaching in 2027, the organisation aims to ensure that disabled people’s priorities shape its campaigning.
To achieve this, it is encouraging people to complete the Council Election Priorities Survey. The responses will inform the Manifesto for Inclusion, outlining what disabled people want councils and election candidates to focus on. This manifesto will be shared with candidates across Scotland and can also be used by disabled people to raise the issues most important to them.
Inclusion Scotland stresses that it cannot develop this manifesto without public input and welcomes priorities on accessible transport, housing, social care, employment, community facilities, or any other relevant concerns.

Thanks to everyone who came up to our stall at the New College Lanarkshire Motherwell, it was great speaking to so many of those who may not know what services are available to them within North Lanarkshire, and the many other organisations that attended.

We look forward to our continued engagement with the community and hope to see you all at any events we attend in the future.

North Lanarkshire Council have released their new Local Transport Strategy.
The new Local Transport Strategy (LTS) aims to ensure North Lanarkshire’s transport network meets the current needs of residents, workers, and visitors while preparing for future challenges and opportunities.

In conjunction with Orcha Health, Macmillan has just launched a dedicated app library, giving people with cancer access to independently assessed digital health tools to support them throughout their cancer experience.

Every product in the library has been independently evaluated for clinical safety, usability, privacy and security by ORCHA, so that anyone with cancer in the UK can find and use apps with confidence.
