How do we help NHS staff feel confident using AI?

It starts with the right skills, learning and support, including knowing when to question what AI tells us.

Writing for Digital Health, Sian Richards, our Executive Director of Digital, Data and Engagement, shares how Wales is helping staff explore AI safely and why investing in people matters just as much as investing in technology.

Climate change is already bringing changing weather patterns, extreme heat, and severe weather risks across Wales. As part of NHS Wales, HEIW is taking proactive steps to build a more resilient organisation.

While climate mitigation focuses on reducing emissions, climate adaptation is all about preparing for the impacts we are already experiencing to safeguard our people, operations, and services.

Our new framework focuses on four key areas:

• People & Wellbeing: Supporting workforce resilience against climate-related impacts.
• Buildings & Infrastructure: Protecting facilities from extreme temperatures and flooding.
• Digital & Tech: Securing vital systems and technology against weather disruptions.
• Partnerships & Supply Chains: Strengthening essential external dependencies.

As we move into the implementation phase, we're embedding climate resilience right into the heart of how we work.
