I love breathing next to plants. ☺️

I know it might sound a little unusual, but being surrounded by plant life always brings me back to something simple.

When I’m sitting amongst plants, breathing, I notice how quickly my attention moves away from trying to work things out and back towards simply being present.

Perhaps it’s because plants don’t seem to overcomplicate life.

They don’t force their growth.
They don’t question their purpose.
They don’t rush towards the next season.

They simply respond to what is here.

Light.
Water.
Space.
Time.

Today, as I sat breathing amongst my plants, I found myself reflecting on how often we try to think our way through life.

Trying to decide what to do.
Trying to understand why we feel the way we do.
Trying to find certainty.
Trying to force clarity.

Yet so often, the harder we search, the further away we feel from ourselves.

One of the greatest gifts Breathwork has given me is the understanding that there is a difference between what the mind wants and what the body knows.

The mind wants answers.
The body wants connection.
The mind wants certainty.
The body wants honesty.
The mind wants to control the path.
The body wants to experience it.

As I breathed today, I was reminded that growth isn’t always about adding more.

Sometimes growth is about creating space.

Just like a gardener prunes away old leaves to allow fresh growth to emerge, there are times in life when we are being invited to let go of something we have long outgrown.

A role.
A responsibility.
An expectation.
A belief.

A version of ourselves that once helped us survive but no longer supports who we are becoming.

And often the body recognises this long before the mind is willing to accept it.

Perhaps that is why I continue to return to the breath.

Not because it gives me answers.

But because it creates the space to hear them.
The space to listen.
The space to notice.
The space to remember what matters.

For me, Breathwork has never been about becoming someone different.

It has been about becoming clearer.

More connected to my body.
More connected to my emotions.
More connected to my intuition.

More connected to the quiet wisdom that exists beneath all the noise.

perhaps that is what is possible for all of us.
Not a life without uncertainty.
But a life where we trust ourselves enough to meet uncertainty with curiosity.

A life where we stop forcing and start listening.
A life where we recognise that the answers we are searching for may not be somewhere out there.

They may already be waiting within us.
Today’s reminder:

Growth requires space.

And sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is pause, breathe, and listen. 💚

Science & Growth: A Living Reminder

In our very first Breathwork Circle of 2025, I gifted each person a baby spider plant.

At the time, they were small, delicate, and just beginning their journey. Much like many of us when we first step into a breathwork space—curious, hopeful, and unsure of what is possible.

Each month, I have brought my own spider plant back to our circle.

Today, it’s thriving.

🌿 New shoots.
🌿 Flowers.
🌿 Baby plants of its own.

It made me reflect on something beautiful about both nature and breath.

The Science of Breath & Growth

Did you know that plants rely on carbon dioxide (CO₂) to survive?

Through a process called photosynthesis, plants absorb carbon dioxide from the air and combine it with sunlight and water to create energy, growth, and oxygen.

In a way, every breath we exhale contributes to the cycle of life around us.

While plants transform carbon dioxide into growth, conscious breathing transforms something equally important within us:

✨ Stress into awareness.
✨ Tension into release.
✨ Survival into connection.
✨ Disconnection into presence.

What Breathwork Teaches Us

Growth doesn’t happen overnight.

This spider plant didn’t flourish because of one day of care. It grew through consistent nourishment, light, water, space, and time.

The same is true for us.

Every breathwork session is like watering the roots of your nervous system.

You may not notice the change immediately, but month after month, breath after breath, something begins to shift.

Your capacity grows.
Your awareness deepens.
Your connection strengthens.

And one day you look back and realise…

Three Sessions In & What a Journey It Has Been

Did you know we started offering our live, in-person Breathwork sessions in April? 🥰

Wow, time really does fly.
Last night was our third session and my first class facilitating on my own.

It was so much more than I could have imagined.

Everyone who joined was new to Conscious Connected Breathwork. At the beginning there was curiosity, wonder, a few nerves, and that little question many people have:

“Will this actually work for me?”

Our intention for the evening was simple:

✨ To feel blissfully at ease
✨ Deeply relaxed

Through the five breathing elements of Conscious Connected Breathwork, we gently connected with the body, became aware of what the nervous system was holding, and created space for release.

Afterwards we shared our experiences together, and as always, every journey was beautifully unique.

At Breathwork Bliss, we hold space each month in 2026 for 2 people, to attend our in-person Breathwork sessions through our sponsored spaces programme.

Each sponsored space offers the opportunity to attend three consecutive monthly sessions, allowing you time to build trust, deepen your experience, and discover how breathwork can support your wellbeing.

We understand that finances can sometimes be a barrier to accessing support, healing, and personal growth. Through the generosity of our community, we are able to offer these spaces to people who would benefit from attending but may not currently be able to cover the full cost.

Your Journey to Healing and exploring Breathwork.

To all our wonderful new connections, a heartfelt thank you for joining our community! I’m Christine McLean, and I’m so glad you’re here.

Every time I share my story, a new layer of clarity emerges, and my deepest hope is that by sharing, you too find a spark of understanding for your own path, especially if Breathwork feels like a journey you’re ready to explore.

My Story: From Darkness to Light
This Breathwork Bliss journey began for me in 2016, born from a profound personal transformation. For over 12 years, my life was profoundly impacted by a brain injury, Complex PTSD, and other undiagnosed traumas that struck when I was just 21. My world, as I knew it, was shattered.

What I know now over 20 years later is my head injury was the beginning of turning my life around… from surviving from life long trauma to thriving and finding my own truth.

The path back to light was long and hard. It took me a decade to even begin finding a direction that offered genuine healing, leading me down many holistic routes. What I know now, with absolute certainty, is the necessity of cultivating deep self-trust. It’s that unwavering belief in yourself that keeps you stepping forward, knowing you are here for a reason.

What You’ll Find Here: Expertise & Experience
This page is a culmination of every route I explored, every theory, concept, and breakthrough I uncovered in my extensive search for healing. After 20 years of dedicated study, learning, and literally breathing life back into my own body, I can confidently say that Breathwork was my most profound path to recovery.

Alongside trauma Informed Breathwork, EMDR and finding a truly grounded counsellor who I trained with in my breathwork journey. These therapies were pivotal in rebuilding my trust in the healing process and all of the amazing holistic treatments I have experienced, they all helped me to build my knowledge of living in prosperity . 😃🫶🏽🙏

Having journeyed through my own healing with Breathwork, I am proud to say I qualified as a Trauma-Informed Breathwork Practitioner in January 2026. With over six years of training and three years client-based experience, I’ve had the privilege of sharing these transformative skills with many individuals on this page and beyond.
