🌿 Head, hands and heart 🌿

This weekend, I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Satish Kumar at the beautiful Being Peace retreat centre in the Forest of Dean.

Satish is one of those rare people who radiates wisdom, warmth and hope. He will be 90 next year and is still teaching, travelling and sharing his deep love for nature, the world and one another.

One of the students asked him:

“What is your secret to a long, happy and healthy life?”

Satish replied that there was no secret—and that luck plays a part—but one thing that has helped him is not worrying too much about the things he cannot control.

Instead, when he sees something he doesn’t like, he asks:

“How can I make it better? What can I do to help? What can I do with my own head, hands and heart?”

Such a simple but powerful way to live: focusing our energy on what we can influence, rather than becoming overwhelmed by everything we cannot.

He also spoke about walking in nature every day and his love of gardening.

“Gardening is my temple.”

At almost 90, Satish is a beautiful reminder that healthy ageing is about so much more than simply living longer. It is about continuing to move, learn, contribute, connect and find meaning in the world around us.

I came away feeling inspired, hopeful and very grateful to have spent time in his presence. 💚

Perhaps the question for all of us is: what can I do today, with my own head, hands and heart?

🌿 A new chapter... welcome to Becky Stopp Wellness.

Some of you have been following me since my Pro Recovery Movement Therapy days, so I wanted to let you know about a little change.

Over the last few years, my work has evolved. My husband and I now run Narberth Chiropractic Clinic together, and I'm continuing to grow my knowledge through Functional Wellness training.

The more I've learnt over the past 20+ years, the more I've realised that good health isn't about just one thing.

It's about looking after the whole person.

So this page is evolving too.
