Feeling a bit "bleurgh" 🤢 ? Stomach bugs can be very unpleasant but usually clear up by themselves within a couple of days.

If you are unwell with diarrhoea or vomiting you should:

✔️ stay off work or school until at least 48 hours after symptoms have stopped.
✔️ avoid visiting anyone in hospital during this time.
✔️ wash your hands frequently and thoroughly with soap and water particularly after using the toilet and before preparing or handling food.
✔️ drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration.
✔️ take paracetamol for any fever or aches and pains.
✔️ get plenty of rest.
✔️ use special rehydration drinks, available from community pharmacies if you have signs of dehydration, such as a dry mouth or dark urine.
✔️ if you feel like eating try plain foods such as soup, rice, pasta and bread

REMINDER! Please avoid contacting the Practice this week (week of 18th May 2026) unless medically necessary. As per previous messages issued, we are migrating to a new computer system, there will be some computer down-time and we will be very limited as to which services we can offer. We are unable to carry out routine work or issue repeat prescriptions until our new computer system is up and running. PLEASE AVOID CONTACTING THE PRACTICE THIS WEEK UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY ON MEDICAL GROUNDS. Also, there may be unavoidable delays as we get used to the new system, therefore, we would appreciate your patience and understanding. Thank you.

For information - when we change to our new IT system on 20th May 2026 we will have no means of issuing appointment reminders for some time. Please keep a note of any appointments you make and ensure you attend, or cancel if no longer needed (with as much notice as possible). Thank you.

We will be changing to a new computer system on 20th May. From the afternoon of 14th May until 20th May we will have a "read-only" system and will be very limited as to which services we can offer. Please avoid contacting us during this period if you can, expect delays and please be patient with us. During the transition period we will only be able to provide services based on medical necessity and will be unable to deal with routine/on-going matters or issue repeat prescriptions. This is a major change, it is outwith our control and we would very much appreciate your help. Please submit repeat prescription requests as early as possible prior to 14th May. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
