I’ve been reading Embracing Uncertainty by Susan Jeffers.

Uncertainty is something many of us find challenging, myself included.

Most people think:

* I’ll relax when I know the outcome.
* I’ll feel confident when I know it will work.
* I’ll feel secure when everything is sorted.

This book argues that life never gives us that guarantee. There’s always another uncertainty waiting around the corner. Which we all know really don’t we? Yet the search for certainty show up still through:

Overthinking decisions
Constant reassurance seeking
Difficulty taking action
Perfectionism
Control
People pleasing
Avoidance
Future tripping
Constantly asking:
“What if it doesn’t work?”
“What if I regret it?”
“What if something goes wrong?”

Trying to solve problems that don’t yet exist and difficulty trusting yourself.

Instead, she encourages developing what she calls a deeper trust in yourself and your ability to handle whatever happens.
Uncertainty is not the problem. Our resistance to uncertainty is.

When we stop fighting the fact that life is uncertain, we free up a huge amount of energy.

What if one of the most powerful nutrition upgrades you could make this week cost just a couple of quid and took less than 10 seconds a day?

The answer might surprise you: 2 Brazil nuts.

Why?
Because Brazil nuts are one of the richest food sources of selenium, a mineral that plays an important role in:
• Supporting your immune system
• Helping your thyroid function properly
• Protecting your cells from oxidative stress (everyday wear and tear that can damage cells)
• Fertility and reproductive health

The best part is you don’t need many. Just 1–2 Brazil nuts a day is usually enough.

It’s a good reminder that healthy eating doesn’t always have to mean expensive powders, complicated recipes or lots of supplements. Sometimes the smallest habits can make a difference 💚✨

Just to put this into perspective:

📱4.5 hours per day on screens
💻 31.5 hours per week
📱1,638 hours per year
💻 68 full days every year

I don’t think modern life is the enemy. Technology can offer amazing opportunities…

But I do think many of us are trying to meet very human needs in a very unnatural environment.

Maybe that’s why so many of us don’t quite feel like ourselves. 💚

For me, improving my diet has never really been about weight or calories. Health matters to me, and so does longevity. Illness gave me a different perspective on that. I want to be well enough to live, experience and enjoy a full life.

It’s been about understanding my body.

Learning what helps me feel well, what doesn’t, and noticing how closely my physical and emotional wellbeing are linked. When my gut isn’t happy, my mood, energy and patience often take a hit too.

Do you notice that?

One thing I’ve realised is that self-love isn’t always a feeling. Sometimes it’s a choice. Actually, it’s a series of small choices that say:

I matter, I deserve care, I’ve got you!

Those choices won’t solve everything. Life will still be life. But over time, they can help us build trust in ourselves and create a greater sense of safety and wellbeing from the inside out.

This post is a reminder to ask yourself:

What would support me right now? Sometimes the answer is food, sometimes it’s rest or maybe it’s a walk, a chat with a friend, or an early night.

Whatever the answer is, you’re allowed to give yourself what you need 💚

In this episode, I sit down with Andy, a former grief counsellor whose own journey began with the death of his wife. We explore how loss changed the course of his life, the kindness of strangers that led him into counselling, and the lessons he learned from years of supporting bereaved people.

Together, we unpack some of the biggest myths surrounding grief, including the pressure to “move on”, the limitations of the stages of grief, and the idea that grief ends a life, not a relationship.

Andy shares his thoughts on continuing bonds, finding meaning after loss, and the philosophical questions grief can bring us face to face with. We also reflect on vulnerability, the messages many of us receive growing up about emotions, and what it means to remain connected to those we have loved.

This is a gentle, thoughtful conversation about love, loss, humanity, and the ways grief continues to shape us long after the moment of loss.

Whether you’re grieving yourself, supporting someone who is, or simply curious about what it means to be human, I hope you’ll find comfort and wisdom in Andy’s story.

Coaching or therapy doesn’t always happen in someone’s office or therapy room. It can happen from your sofa or even in your lunch break.

Online sessions can still be deep and supportive and there’s no travel needed. Just a space to talk, reflect, and process wherever you are in the world.

Online sessions can offer flexibility, comfort and a space to pause in the middle of busy lives, parenting, work, burnout, life transitions or simply feeling a bit lost in yourself.

I work online with clients across different locations, offering a gentle space for reflection, emotional support and nervous system aware approaches.

Often the hardest part is just allowing yourself the space. 💚✨

Are you fed up of being half-there.
Physically with others, but mentally else where.

Doom-scrolling drains our energy and steals our presence. Notifications train our brains to expect interruption, making it harder to focus, listen, or sit with a thought without reaching for our phones.

Seeing everyone’s highlights can quietly chip away at self-esteem. Late-night scrolling disrupts sleep. Conversations get shallower. Boundaries blur. Especially for parents trying to navigate screen time while being glued to a screen themselves 😩

The consequences could go on, it’s scary! Our phones are designed to be addictive. We can’t escape technology, but we can build a more conscious relationship with it.

This workshop is a pause.
Time to unplug, reflect, and find better ways of using technology with boundaries.

Through gentle journaling prompts, we’ll explore how your phone use is affecting your energy, focus, sleep, and connection, and how to make small, intentional changes.

Life is precious.
Let’s stop losing it to a screen.
