My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when she was 6 years old. I knew NOTHING about diabetes when it happened. We were in shock as we learned we needed to give her roughly 10 injections of insulin everyday. ** type 1 is different from type 2. The pancreas stops producing insulin completely and there is no cure. There is no relationship to bad health....it just happens!**
Over the last 4-5 years we have adjusted to life with blood sugar level tests and insulin administrations around the clock. The times that we find the most difficult are when my daughter gets sick. With type 1 diabetes, when the body is under stress from illness, it has more trouble absorbing insulin. Normally her blood sugar levels continue to rise....which is dangerous as she produces keytones in the blood. A high or rising level of keytones means a trip to hospital for a few days while she stays on a drip and constant monitoring to get her levels back to a safe level.
This is where the juicybeans come in.
Since she has been taking the juiceplus capsules, she has been sick on two occasions.
Both times we avoiding a trip to hospital and she hardly developed ANY keytones in her blood. One of those occasions she was actually on her annual diabetes camp, surrounded by nutritionists and nurses. They phoned me to pick her up because she was too unwell to stay. I always feel anxious when she gets sick because of the complications with her diabetes. I arrived to pick her up and she had a fever and a moderate keytone level reading. I took her home thinking a trip to Emergency during the night was probably inevitable. Once home we gave her twice the amount of her capsules and lots of fluids. By the morning she was much better. 24 hours later and she had completely recovered.

Her levels have been great. Keeping blood sugar levels within the acceptable range is very difficult at the best of times but I feel that her body is no longer under the same amount of stress as it once was. She has bounced back twice, very quickly from illness that usually takes much longer and becomes more serious. I am happy to share my beloved Complete powder with her too 😊 as it gives her a healthy start to her day and doesn’t spike her blood levels throughout the morning.

Meal replacement shakes there are chocolate and vanilla you can just add water like I usually do or be a bit more interesting and add dairy free milk and fruit and spice it up a little!
