When someone gets symptoms around their pelvis - whether it's pain or discomfort, leaking, bladder or bowel issues, it can be put down to a weak pelvic floor because that's what so many women know about.

Kegels are great IF your pelvic floor is weak and just needs a few exercises. But IF you've done these and there's been no change or maybe even made slightly worse, it could well be that the pelvic floor is actually a bit tight!

Tight muscles can indicate that they're being overworked and they can't cope with the load, so when you try and contract them, there's not a lot left to contract. If you're unsure and want to find out, you're welcome to get in touch. All information is confidential, it's a small private clinic with no waiting room - you come to the appointment and are seen straight away.

The first 2026 UK heat wave ☀️

But guess who’s got air con? 😌

Physio… with air con.
Reflexology… with air con.
Indian head massage… with air con.
Finally getting to the bottom of that annoying ache/pain/stress that keeps hanging around… WITH AIR CON.

Honestly, at this point the cool room alone feels therapeutic.

Physio isn’t just “here are 3 exercises, off you go” 🫣 It should be tailored, specific, and make sense to you.

Movement matters, but so does understanding: why it’s happening, what’s keeping it going
and what you can do next.

So you’re not stuck in the same cycle of pain or injury and recovery.

Women's health physio for endometriosis?? Who'd have thought! I've had endometriosis since my late teens and wasn't referred, advised to look for or had any idea that women's health physio could help until I became one. At various points over the years some of the things I was told by medical professionals included, 'You're probably just anxious about travelling so your body is creating symptoms,' 'Just have a baby that may help,' 'You either live with the pain for the rest of your life or have surgery that risks other internal organs,' and from one consultant that 'Your symptoms give me a headache.'

I will listen to you, your experience, which may well be very different to any one else's. Treatment is individual every time!
You don’t have to just put up with symptoms!
If you’d like to know whether Women’s Health physio could help, get in touch.

Back pain is so common in January!

Around 8 in 10 people will experience it at some point - 80% of the global adult population!

Most episodes improve within a few weeks, even when the pain feels intense, for others it can be months or keep coming and going for years.

Imaging and scans are not seen as the gold standard assessment for back pain - physio is! Imaging rarely tells us anything that would change your treatment. And even things like disc bulges and 'age related changes' are seen in lots of people with no pain at all so seeing those on images doesn't give us much to go on either.

Long-term rest often slows recovery more than it helps. Gentle, regular movement is key. If you can, to and see a physio to get some advice and treat specific to you and what you're experiencing so you can get back to doing what you love.
