Since it's Pain Awareness month, we wanted to focus a couple of our tips on supporting those living with pain – as a number of our class regulars do.
Dealing with chronic pain can naturally bring up feelings of frustration and worry, which can lead to extra tension in the body. This tension often makes the original pain feel more intense, creating a difficult cycle to break. When you notice these feelings rising, taking a moment to focus on something else entirely can help. In other words, gently redirecting your attention to your immediate surroundings, helping your mind and body find a temporary pocket of calm.
Different techniques work for different people. We have more in our guide which you can download from the comments.
