After our reflection on Ahimsa, we’ve been thinking about another practice that feels especially relevant right now: Santosha — contentment.

Because if you’ve been on social media lately… it’s a lot.

There’s always something to react to.
Something to fix.
Something telling you you could be doing more, being more, handling things better.

And it builds this quiet pressure even in your practice.

But Santosha offers a different way in.

Not checking out. Not ignoring what’s happening.
Just softening the constant feeling that you’re somehow behind.

Even in the wider conversation around wellness right now, there’s a shift away from “perfect routines” and towards something more personal, more realistic less about chasing an ideal, more about actually listening to your body

And that’s exactly what this practice is about.

On the mat, Santosha might look like:
Letting your practice be enough as it is today.
NOT comparing your body, your energy, your flexibility to last week (or to anyone else in the room.)
Taking the simpler option… and meaning it.

Off the mat, it’s quieter:
Not getting pulled into every headline or every opinion.
Letting yourself step back from the noise, even briefly.

We’re living in a time where our attention is constantly being pulled outward. And that MASSIVELY takes a toll on how we feel

Santosha isn’t about settling.

It’s about recognising that, right here in this breath, in this moment there is already enough. We are already enough.

Santosha asks us to soften the endless feeling that we’re behind.

To stop measuring ourselves against yesterday, against other people, against impossible standards.

And to remember:
there is peace in letting this version of you be enough for today.
