This is where the regulations have left a LOT of people confused.

Botulinum toxin is completely legal when appropriately prescribed and administered - but because itā€™s a prescription-only medicine, advertising it to the public is prohibited.

Two very different things.

And with so much being said online at the minute, we thought it was worth clearing that up properly.

So, how DO you market botulinum toxin?

You canā€™t. In the UK, botulinum toxin is a prescription-only medicine, which means it cannot be advertised to the general public.

No promotional posts. No offers. No before and afters used to advertise the prescription-only treatment. And disguising the name with phrases like ā€œanti-wrinkleā€ doesnā€™t automatically make an advert compliant eitheršŸ«£

But that doesnā€™t mean you canā€™t market your clinic. Educate people about the ageing process. Talk about facial anatomy. Explain how consultations work. Show your qualifications and clinical standards. Answer the questions patients are genuinely asking. Build trust in you as the practitioner.

And with increased scrutiny around aesthetics advertising, understanding that difference could safeguard the business youā€™ve worked incredibly hard to build.
