It is with a heavy heart that I post this.
Firstly for everyone who has made enquiries and not received a reply. I am so sorry. I really feel I've been letting people down which is never something I intended to do. I've now been able to change the message settings and I have an auto response to all enquiries set up now.
So after nearly 20 years of doing makeup. I decided a few months back that it was time to hang my brush belt up. It's taking me a long time to actually face this moment and put it out on here officially. I've kept the page open incase I do any creative stuff for fun that I'd like to share in future.
Back when Covid hit, it changed my world completely. I decided to try my hand at working in the funeral industry. 3 years on and I'm working full-time for a funeral company doing a job that I love as much as I loved my makeup work. I never thought that would be possible.
It helps the process of stepping away from KF Makeup that little bit easier, although it's one of the hardest things I've ever had to do.
I'm sometimes able to transfer my makeup skills to my current job which is a huge comfort to myself because I can still do the one thing that I loved so much, whilst also helping others.
I just wanted to thank absolutely every single one of you for your continued support over the years. It really was an unbelievable ride. I got to experience the most wonderful things, meet so many wonderful and beautiful souls, some of which I got to know incredibly well, and will still keep in touch with.
I feel so lucky to have been able to work in such an amazing industry for as long as I have. I was going to compile a video of all the wonderful moments I got to experience. But it breaks my heart to even think of doing that so I think a message is enough.
To all my regular makeup clients thank you for trusting me to make you feel your best for all your special occasions and share some beautiful moments with you all ❤️
To all my brides, I got to experience one the most beautiful and precious times of your lives and I will be forever grateful for this.
To all many photographers, camera crews and other industry professionals I worked with over the years. Thank you! So many amazing memories and experiences.
My Halloween and creative clients, well, anyone who knows me, just knows that this was and is my most favourite thing to do. I built up a bit of a reputation for doing this kind of makeup and I was never short of work when halloween came around, often being fully booked a year in advance. It was wonderful! I'll miss all that crazy!
My amazing and wonderful makeup friends. Thanks for all the continued support. I love each and every one of you. Again some amazing memories of fashions shows, times that we'd come together as a team. So much fun.
I could never have managed to do this for as long without the help of my friends Mark and Tracey, who let me set up in their little shop Kathman2 back in 2011 I love you both so much and I'm eternally grateful for the kindness, support and love that you've shown me.
My final thank-you goes to my work mate Mark Jobson from Mayfield studios. Sorry my s**t is still in your studio! I'll move it soon 🙈🤣 But thanks for everything! It really was such an awesome space! I miss it and your grumpiness so much! 🤣🖤
So there we go. I finally did it. I've cried so much writing this. For those that have managed to read all this to the end. Thanks for hanging in there.
Love to you all!
