🌟 WEEKEND SPOTLIGHT — CHRIS PARKER 🌟

This week we’re giving a shoutout to one of the genuine good guys of Primal — Chris Parker 👏

A proud Yorkshireman, Chris is exactly the type of person you want as part of a gym community.

Always supportive, always encouraging of others and absolutely zero ego. He trains hard, gets stuck in and is always happy to help those around him.

A perfect example came last weekend when Chris stepped in at short notice to partner Kathryn H at the Hybrid Games — and the pair absolutely smashed it! 💪🔥

Chris is also someone who consistently gets involved in our gym challenges and events. He doesn’t just turn up to train — he plays a big part in driving the community and making Primal what it is.

Great attitude. Great teammate. Great guy to have around the gym.

Keep smashing it, Chris — we appreciate everything you bring to Primal! 🙌🏻

To anyone who is new to fitness racing and / or wants to improve their hyrox / hybrid performance this a great clip of Saskia an elite athlete talking about the importance of not trying to do hard sessions every day as it can stall progress or even in some cases end in going backwards.

She is talking a long term approach to improving as an athlete and not trying to get better at every discipline immediately

We fully believe that you need to have the right balance of good quality training and good recovery too as it is the recovery time that helps your body to adapt and make progress

Something to bear in mind when you’re planning your training for the week 🫡

If you think being a busy dad who travels a lot with a very busy job means that you can’t get into good shape then please talk to Gary 👌🏻

He is a great example of a guy who makes the most of his time when he’s at home to work on his health and fitness.

Since he joined Primal he has gone from out of shape to a really fit guy who now regularly gets involved in fitness races like hyrox and the hybrid games.

He’s achieved this through regular strength training in our small group PT sessions as well as conditioning in our hyrox classes all training alongside his lovely wife Jo-Anne 🙌🏻

Plus he’s significantly improved his running through hard work and also racing 10km, half marathons and ultras too 🏃‍♂️

Keep working hard Gary we’re all super proud of your progress

Balance is the key to any successful diet 👌🏻

If you or your kids love a maccies 🍔 then you should try to learn how to keep that in your diet

They way you won’t feel like you’re constantly depriving yourself of the foods you like

Plus if you decide to stop eating them but you still have to go to maccies for the kids then that’s going to be a big temptation and make it more likely you’ll fall off the wagon

Massive well done to all of the Primal members who took part in the Hybrid Games this weekend

Over two days we had over 20 members and friends of the gym tackle the epic fitness race in our home town of Newcastle

From nervous first timers to more seasoned runners everyone who took part gave it their all, supported and reach other and most importantly HAD FUN ❤️

We are all so proud of you and can’t wait to cheer you on at the next one!!
