We spend so much time checking in with everyone else—our children, partners, clients, family, and friends—that we forget to check in with the one person who needs us most: ourselves.

Disconnection doesn’t happen overnight.

It happens in the small moments:

✨ Ignoring your intuition.
✨ Pushing your needs aside.
✨ Staying busy to avoid what you’re feeling.
✨ Silencing your inner voice.
✨ Dismissing what your soul is trying to tell you.

The connection you’re searching for isn’t outside of you.

It’s found in the moments you pause, breathe, listen, and come back home to yourself.

Place your hand on your heart.

Take a slow breath in for 6… and out for 6.

Listen without expectation.

✨ Spiritual besties, before you can trust your intuition, you need to feel safe enough to hear your own inner voice.

I was reminded of this so deeply in a one to one client session today.

As we gently peeled back the layers of her energy she connected with a deep and strong emotion she’d been carrying for years without even realising it. It had been sitting in her body, creating heaviness and tension beneath the surface.

The moment she allowed herself to fully acknowledge and feel it, everything shifted.

Her body softened.
Her energy opened.
The weight she’d been carrying started to lift.

And that’s the thing…

So many of us are trying to strengthen our intuition while avoiding what’s happening inside of us.

✨ Where healing meets spiritual connection ✨

One of the biggest misconceptions I see is that healing and spiritual connection are separate paths.

For me, they’re intertwined.

When we’re carrying fear, stress, emotional wounds, or nervous system overwhelm, it can be difficult to hear our intuition clearly. Not because our intuition has gone anywhere, but because there’s so much noise competing for our attention.

As we heal, regulate, release, and process what we’re carrying, many of us naturally feel more connected to ourselves and our inner wisdom.

Healing doesn’t “activate” your intuition.

It simply helps create space for you to hear what was already there.

That’s why I love combining emotional healing, nervous system support, energy work, and spiritual practices. They complement each other beautifully.

Kids need tools too 💛

We often talk about emotional regulation for adults, but our children need tools to help them regulate their nervous systems as well.

Today, Eli needed this after a hospital appointment.

For many children, it’s not just the appointment itself that can feel overwhelming. It’s the people, the environment, the waiting, the noises, the changes to routine, and all the sensory input that comes with it.

You can see him holding his comfort toys—a Box and his Buzz toy. These are part of the tools that help him feel safe and supported when things feel too much.

By the time we got home, Eli was very dysregulated. He was so overwhelmed and stressed that he couldn’t even eat.

So we gave his nervous system what it needed.

A few minutes with his eye massager, relaxing music, and some gentle breathwork created a mini reset. 🎶✨

Just 5 minutes helped him calm his body, regulate his emotions, and move out of that overwhelmed state. Once he felt calmer, he was able to relax enough to eat.

For children with additional needs, neurodivergent children, or simply children navigating big emotions, these moments aren’t a luxury. They’re a support system.

Regulation doesn’t always look the way people expect.

Sometimes it looks like:
🌟 Holding a comfort toy
🌟 Listening to calming music
🌟 Using sensory tools
🌟 Practising simple breathwork
🌟 Wrapping up in a blanket
🌟 Taking quiet time alone
🌟 Moving their body
🌟 Having space to decompress

Every child is different. The key is helping them discover what works for them and recognising the signs when their nervous system is asking for support.

Watching Eli learn what helps him reset is a reminder that our children don’t just need us to help them through difficult moments—they need practical tools they can use to support themselves too. 💛

Spiritual bestie… sometimes the anger isn’t actually anger. 🖤

Sometimes it’s the grief of feeling unseen.
Rejected.
Chosen last.
Or carrying wounds you’ve silently held for years.

Recently a deep theme came up inside SoulSister and with several one-to-one clients:

“I’m always second best.”

Then life triggered that wound through rejection in relationships — and suddenly the anger wasn’t just about the present moment.
It was every past moment they felt abandoned, overlooked, or not enough.

Triggers do not create the wound, friend.
They reveal it.

Because underneath anger is often:

✨ Fear
✨ Shame
✨ Rejection
✨ Feeling emotionally unsafe
✨ Years of silencing yourself to keep the peace

Your body remembers what your mind tried to move past.
