LU7 — The Acupuncture Point for Grief & Letting Go 🌿
LU7 (Lung 7), Lieque is a powerful point traditionally used in Traditional Chinese Medicine to support the Lung system, which is closely associated with grief, sadness, loss, and the process of letting go.
In TCM, the Lungs are said to govern the breath and the relationship between holding on and releasing. When we experience grief, we may feel it physically through a heavy chest, restricted breathing or a lump in the throat
LU7 is traditionally used to help open and regulate the Lung channel, encourage the movement of Qi, and support a sense of release and emotional ease. It is often described as a beautiful point for those moving through periods of grief, transition, heartbreak, or emotional heaviness.
When I tell you this stung. The release was immediate within this point and the chest felt lighter afterwards
There is also something deeply symbolic about working with this point:
we breathe in, we breathe out. We receive, and we release.
Acupuncture doesn’t mean forcing grief away. Rather, it can be used as a gentle practice of creating space for the body and emotions to move through what they are experiencing.
“Sometimes healing is not about letting go all at once. It is simply learning to breathe through the moment.” 🌬️🤍
