We’re proud to be supporting Carers Week

This year’s theme, Building Carer Friendly Communities, highlights the importance of creating environments where unpaid carers feel recognised, supported, and empowered. Carer-friendly communities can make a meaningful and lasting difference to the lives of carers and the people they support.

At TSA, we are committed to connecting communities and enriching lives. A key part of that commitment is supporting carers through workforce development initiatives, including innovative learning tools such as the Virtual Home, and by showcasing what good looks like across our community through the development and implementation of Technology Enabled Care (TEC) solutions.

Learn more about the virtual home - https://www.tsa-voice.org.uk/tsa-training-service/the-virtual-home/

Throughout Carers Week, we’ll be sharing stories and case studies from our members that demonstrate the positive impact TEC can have on people who draw on care and support, as well as their families and carers. These examples highlight how technology can help people live more independently while providing greater reassurance, confidence, and support for those who care for them.

Join us this week as we celebrate carers and explore how we can work together to build more carer-friendly communities.

🚀 You Asked, We Listened: Transforming Models of Care

📅 Thursday 16 July
📍 Sandown Park Racecourse, Esher, KT10 9AJ
⏰ 09:00 – 15:30

You told us the biggest challenge is not understanding where care is heading, but making change happen in practice.

Across health, housing and social care, organisations are being asked to deliver more preventative, joined-up and outcomes-focused services while managing rising demand and limited capacity.

That is why we have shaped Transforming Models of Care around the issues you said matter most.

What to expect:
✅ Practical insight into the shift from reactive to proactive care
✅ Honest lessons from organisations already implementing change
✅ Panel discussions with system leaders and practitioners
✅ Peer discussions to explore barriers and identify realistic next steps
✅ Networking, Q&A sessions and opportunities to shape future TSA events

This is an interactive opportunity to challenge thinking, share practical learning and connect with others working through the same pressures and priorities.

If you work across health, housing or social care and are involved in shaping, leading or delivering services, this is a conversation you will want to be part of.

It’s a busy time all round in membership at the moment. WE have welcome 5 new members since April:

Kight PowerHub
CENSIS
IIZUKA Software Technologies Ltd
Immedicare
My Improvement Network
VidexUK
AutonoMe

Please do give them a warm welcome and head over to our member directory to read more about them.

Gemma Oliver has been at the Aico Roadshow in Leicester this week and presented at the Birmingham roadshow on Thursday she said “it’s been really interesting to hear about all of the regulatory requirements around Housing. They have so much to do and with the analogue to digital switch on top its unsurprising they have fallen behind. It’s been great to share our knowledge with them and offer support to complete the switch by Jan 27”.

Henry Lockett ran an in-person Virtual Homes workshop in Derby for Derby City Councill. Henry showed them case studies of people with various conditions such as autism, frequent fallers, and dementia and highlighted the TEC that the virtual home would recommend. Henry said “The workshop showed how tailored technology enabled care can greatly improve safety and independence. By using real-life scenarios, we demonstrated the impact the right solutions can have for individuals with a range of needs”

Charlotte Downing has been busy in her Interim Head of Membership post, planning the quarter and designing a new series of online events that will be coming later in the year. Charlotte said “We’ve seen our Members asking for more opportunities to celebrate and showcase their incredible work happening across health, housing, care and learning disabilities, and to feel more connected and supported as they share learning and achievements across the sector, so our upcoming events will really help highlight the outcomes these Members are evidencing”.

You can catch the membership team out on the road today at the Deaf Expo at the NEC in Birmingham and on the 20th May in Derby at the Access Healthcare, Local Government and Technology Enabled Care Transforming Social Care Conference.

If you have any events coming up that you think we should come to, let us know in the comments

Across health, housing and social care, the focus is shifting towards prevention, integration and better outcomes. But with rising demand, workforce pressures and tighter budgets, turning policy into practical action remains a significant challenge.

Join us on Thursday 16 July at Sandown Park Racecourse for Transforming Models of Care – a practical, interactive event designed for leaders shaping and delivering services.

What to expect:
✅ Insights into how care is moving from reactive to proactive models
✅ Real-world lessons from organisations already driving change
✅ Open panel discussions featuring system leaders, practitioners and lived experience
✅ Structured peer discussions to explore barriers and solutions
✅ Senior decision-makers responding directly to delegate insight

This is more than a conference. It is an opportunity to challenge assumptions, test ideas and connect with the people influencing what happens next.

If you work across health, housing or social care and are responsible for shaping or delivering services, this is a conversation worth being part of.

Mental Health Awareness Week reminds us that even small actions can make a meaningful difference.

This year’s theme is:
Action: for yourself, for someone else, for all of us.

At TSA, we know that mental wellbeing is shaped by the everyday actions we take.
💚 For yourself – taking a break, setting boundaries, or asking for support.
💚 For someone else – checking in with others, listening without judgement, or simply asking, “How are you really?”
💚 For all of us – helping to build spaces where people feel safe, supported, and able to speak openly.

Technology Enabled Care can also play an important role in supporting mental health for people who draw on care and support. By increasing independence and providing the everyday help people need, TEC supports people to enjoy the lives they want.

We’ve seen this in practice through a case study from My Improvement Network, where TEC was introduced in a newly built older people’s mental health ward and delivered a fantastic impact.
