Every Wednesday one of our team leaders Erin visits our lovely customer for a shopping trip together. Over time Erin has learned all about her likes and dislikes, and discovered something surprising: she had never eaten a pizza in her life! 🍕

This week that changed. She picked out her own BBQ pulled pork pizza while they were out shopping, and back home Erin cooked it for her using her oven, one she’d never used before because no one had ever shown her how.

The result? A very happy customer, a new favourite food, and the confidence to use her own oven.

Little moments like these are what home care is really about 💙

Last Saturday, our Marketing and Recruitment Manager Kate completed the Trek26 challenge for Alzheimer's Society trekking 28 miles across sand, hills and solid land right here in the North East of England.

It was tough, it was tiring, but it was so worth it. Kate set herself this challenge to raise money for a cause close to our hearts, supporting people who live with dementia and their families.

We’ve put together a video vlog of the whole trek, if you have a spare 5 minutes we’d love for you to watch and see what it took to cross the finish line.

Thanks to every single person who donated, shared or cheered us on. Kate raised an incredible £1245 for Alzheimer’s Society, money that will go directly towards helping people affected by dementia. 💙

🌟 Care Expert of the Month: Sarah 🌟

Celebrating the brilliant Sarah this month! She's been part of the Bluebird Care family for 4 years, bringing a wealth of medical experience and genuine passion for caring to everything she does.

Sarah is thorough, dedicated and a fantastic mentor to her colleagues. And we're thrilled to share she's just accepted the official title of Team Leader. Huge congratulations, Sarah, so well deserved!

On top of all her skills, it's that friendly nature and infectious smile that make her visits so special for clients.

What a day! 🏆 Yesterday our team headed to Leeds for the Bluebird Care Regional Awards, and it was truly one to remember.

We were so proud to have 4 of our incredible team members shortlisted as finalists across 4 different categories: Live in Carer of the Year, Dementia Champion, Care Expert of the Year and Coordinator of the Year.

The day was filled with lovely food, brilliant entertainment including a very competitive round of musical bingo (with some brilliant prizes up for grabs) and plenty of dancing. We also had the pleasure of meeting CEO Jonathan Gardener and catching up with familiar faces from across the Bluebird Care network.

Huge congratulations to our finalists from Bluebird Care North Tyneside, North Northumberland, and Sunderland & North Durham: Mobola, Michelle, Rachael and Elaine.

A very special congratulations to Michelle, who took home the award for Dementia Champion, recognising her incredible work supporting customers and their families through a dementia diagnosis and everything that follows. And to Mobola, who was recognised for her outstanding live in care, going above and beyond for her customer and making a real difference to his life every single day. She truly embodies the Bluebird Care spirit and what premium care giving is all about.

To all our finalists, Mobola, Michelle, Rachael and Elaine, you are truly special and your hard work does not go unnoticed. We are so proud to call you our colleagues 💙
