DSRF UK is delighted to announce the publication of two articles in The Lancet, in collaboration with researchers led by , which urge for a transformative shift in the healthcare paradigm and experience for the Down syndrome community. Dr Elizabeth Corcoran, Chair of DSRF UK, says:

“The release of these papers marks a moment in history for people with Down syndrome and their families. They have long been failed by fragmented care, and by delays in diagnosis, by poor coordination of care, and inaccessible communication. As family members, we have often borne the burden of this. These papers clearly invite us to step forward into a new way of supporting people with Down syndrome to live their best lives. The papers urge us to design healthcare with people with Down syndrome, to meet their needs pro-actively, and to integrate everything we have learned so far from the evidence base around Down syndrome.”

What an incredible moment for our community 🧡
On Sunday, Emmanuel Nmecha, who plays for North London United, took to the stage to present the Arsenal players with their Premier League medals. Moments like this are about so much more than football. They help to raise expectations, challenge perceptions and show millions of people that individuals with Down syndrome belong in every part of our communities.

A huge congratulations to Emmanuel and everyone at North London United. Thank you for showing the power of representation and inclusion on one of the biggest stages in world sport. ⚽🏆

Nobody told me, the lucky few, positive about Down syndrome, breaking barriers, sport for all

Eid Mubarak to all our families and supporters celebrating 🙏
